Chapter 12: New Targets

Everyone was in shock. Right there, before their eyes, was the powerful trio. Nina, Fabian and Eddie. They had changed, and they were portraying their school uniforms with pride. Nina was prettier and seemed braver, Eddie was taller and looked stronger, while Fabian was skinnier and paler. Something about him was odd, everyone thought.

Jerome: Guys... you're here.

Everyone ran to them ending in a group hug. They started asking questions one after another, making it impossible for them to talk. Patricia and Alfie placed chairs for them, and everyone sat around prepared to listen to what they had to say. Eddie looked at her, only at her, since they arrived. Before they left again, he wanted some time alone to talk to her.

Amber: So... can we ask anything?

Nina: Yes, don't worry, we've turned down the cameras.

Alfie: So it was you! How did you...?

Patricia: There was a strange code program we didn't understand.

Eddie: Fabian took care of it in 10 seconds, new record for the genius.

Eddie slapped Fabian's head, to what he replied with a "Ouch, Eddie!" as everyone laughed.

Fabian: We had to prepare the environment if we planned in coming in, specially since the new principal at school is working with the secret society.

Jerome: You knew that as well?

Nina: We've been looking over you guys, and of everything that might be connected to what happened.

Joy: So... you know what happened to me?

Fabian: What happened to you started it all, Joy.

Joy was surprised they knew her name, but at the same time it seemed normal. If before that ritual she was a regular school classmate, they all must've been like a family to her.

Willow: So... why are you here? Are you staying?

Eddie: I'm sorry, I'm afraid we can't. Not yet.

Everyone sighed. They didn't want them to leave again, but they knew they had to.

Fabian: As we speak, they probably have already noticed the cameras were taken down and that a copy of the files have been transferred. As we speak, they're probably making a plan to get to us.

Mara: Fabian, you've changed.

Nina: While Eddie and I have been in charge of you and increasing our powers, he's been in charge of the hardest part.

Fabian: Had to increase my skills to be able to collect enough information for the case.

Eddie: He's like a Sherlock Holmes now.

Jerome: Wait... increase your powers?

Nina: Yes, indeed.

No one understood what kind of powers they meant, since they had never seen anything like that before.

Willow: Wait, the white light that appeared before you...

Eddie: Nina's been practicing teletransportation. She needs to fully take a hold of it.

Nina: If something went wrong, who knows where we might end up. Right, Fabian?

Fabian: I'm glad we aren't in the North Pole or somewhere worse.

Nina and Eddie laughed, Fabian just smiled. The environment around them and between them had changed, they were more mature. "So, this is what they've become while being away", Jerome thought.
