Sprinting into the Wilder’s residence, the group of teens charged towards the study, all ready to enter the basement when they realised the coasters failed to open the door Fully aware of the situation, Molly volunteered to open the door with her strength. Once the doors were open the teens ran down the stairs and this time didn’t worry about being caught. Chase reached out to hold Garfield’s hand, pulling the boy down the winding narrow corridors, turning the corner only to be met by an eerily empty basement.“I don’t get it,” Gert imparted in disbelief, “Where are they?”
“This doesn’t make any sense,” Karolina disclosed, equally unsure with what’s gone on, “Alex, you said-”
“Maybe we just beat them here,” Molly piped up optimistically, “Keep your guard up, guys!”
“Impossible,” Alex interjected dejectedly, “My dad got a huge head start.”
“He’s probably somewhere else,” Garfield informed the others, “Or he’s most likely in one of our parents' secret villain lairs that is hidden under our houses.”
“Which in Garfield’s language means he’s dead,” Chase stated grimly, saying what no one had the guts to say as Molly’s somewhat hopeful grin slipped off her face, the cold reality finally sinking in.
“God damn it!” Alex emploded, storming off angrily as he stomped up the stairs, needing space.
So while Nico chased after Alex the rest of the teens made their way downstairs to see if they could uncover any forbidden secrets, When they reached the now lit room everyone made there way around to examine it, all while Garfield spared a glance in the direction of the bookcase wondering if they had any cult like books that suggest what they do.
Instead of finding a book about cultistic rituals, Garfield found a black cylinder looking box that seemed out of place, so Garfield made his way towards the bookshelf and reached for what he now dubbed a camera. Did I just knight a camera?
“I found a weird thingie!” Garfield yells attracting the four teens' attention as they stride their way over towards him and send curious looks to the old fashioned camera. Eww the nighties.
“Do you think they filmed themselves doing their sick rituals?” Chase called out as he examined the camera.
“To what? Go viral on the dark web?” Gert deadpanned.
“I don’t think our parents know what viral means,” Molly joked under her breath, “Not unless it has something with contracting a disease.”
“Okay, not the point,” Chase put in sternly, “We need Wilder’s help to find out what’s even stored in this.”
“I’ll go get him,” Karolina proposed, running back upstairs in search of Alex and Nico, leaving Gert, Molly, Chase and Garfield down in the basement.
“I can’t believe this is reality now,” Gert spilled dejectedly, breaking the silence as she slumped into an armchair, Molly hopping onto the left armrest Garfield stayed leaning against the bookshelf, Chase standing beside him. “Secret underground lairs, all this treachery..our parents being in some sort of cult or mafia-”
“That. Would. Be. Awesome.” Garfield said excitedly, dodging the smack Chase was aiming for his head. “I wonder how my mom finds the time to murder people…it makes me wonder what other secrets she’s hiding. H-how much do we even truly know about are parents, the people who we’ve been with our entire lives?”
“Same here,” Chase admitted, “I really wanna know how my dad finds the time to be a psycho and the world’s brightest mind as it slightly amazes me despite the deaths, obviously. I could barely focus on Spanish homework and the lacrosse team at the same time let alone go about murdering orphaned teenagers.”
