With a trembling hand, Theo answered his phone, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Hello?" he said, his voice strained with worry.

The voice on the other end was sharp, dripping with sarcasm. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Mr. Two-Timer," Valentina's voice came through, cutting through the air like a knife.

Theo winced at the harshness in her tone. He knew he deserved every bit of her anger.

"What do you want, Val?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady despite the rising panic in his chest.

"Oh, nothing much," Valentina replied, her voice laced with anger. "Just calling to make sure you aren't planning on continuing to hurt my best friend. You need to stop calling her and if you're still looking for her, just stop."

Theo's heart sank further at her words, the weight of his actions pressing down on him like a ton of bricks. He knew he had caused Ariel pain, but hearing it from Valentina made it all the more real.

"I... I understand, Val," he stammered, his voice thick with regret. "I just need to know she's okay. I need to explain..."

But Valentina wasn't having any of it. "No, Theo," she interrupted, her voice stern. "You've done enough damage. You don't get to waltz back into her life whenever it suits you. You don't get to do what makes YOU feel better and what YOU want. Ariel needs space, and you need to respect that. She obviously is not answering any of your calls. Catch a clue! Maybe you don't know what this feels like for her but you've seen what it can do to someone before!"

Theo swallowed hard, the reality of his situation crashing down on him. He had hurt the woman he loved, and now he was paying the price. He had seen when Valentina was crushed after her ex-husband's affair.. he remembered how heartbroken she was.

Theo winced at the harshness in her tone, feeling the weight of her condemnation bearing down on him. His throat tightened as memories of Valentina's own heartbreak flooded his mind. He remembered the pain etched on her face, the tears she shed in private, the shattered pieces of her trust scattered at her feet. And now, he was the one responsible for inflicting that same agony on Ariel.

He remembered how she had refused to speak to him after she found out about his affair, how he had encouraged her to shut him out rather than face him.

"I'm sorry, Val," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the weight of his guilt. "I never meant to hurt her. I just... I need her to know that."

But Valentina showed no sign of softening, her anger burning bright and unyielding. "Save your apologies, Theo," she spat, her tone cutting like a knife. "Actions speak louder than words, and right now, your actions have spoken volumes. If you truly cared about Ariel, you wouldn't have put her through this in the first place. You wouldn't have ever put yourself in a position where this could happen!"

Theo felt a pang of shame at Valentina's words, the truth of her accusation hitting him like a punch to the gut. He had been reckless, selfish, and foolish, allowing himself to be drawn into a situation that had ultimately led to heartbreak for the woman he loved.

"I know, Val," he murmured, his voice heavy with remorse. "I messed up... big time."

Valentina's tone remained as sharp as ever, her anger unyielding. "You bet you did," she replied tersely. "And now you have to live with the consequences."

Theo nodded, his throat tight with emotion. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right," he vowed, his voice tinged with desperation. "I'll make it up to her, I swear."

But Valentina's response was cold and unforgiving. "Actions speak louder than words, Theo," she reiterated, her voice like ice. "Remember that."

With those final words, Valentina ended the call, leaving Theo standing there, his heart heavy with regret. He knew he had a long road ahead of him, one fraught with obstacles and uncertainties. But as he stood there in the wake of Valentina's condemnation, he knew one thing for certain: he would do whatever it took to make amends for his mistakes, no matter how difficult the journey might be.

Theo's footsteps felt heavy as he trudged back to the hotel room, each step echoing the weight of his remorse and regret. It was undeniable now – this was all his fault. Every wrong turn, every mistake, every betrayal – they all pointed back to him. The guilt gnawed at him, relentless and unforgiving.

What could he do now? What should he do? These questions swirled in his mind, each one more agonizing than the last. He knew he needed to give Ariel space, to respect her wishes, and allow her time to heal, but the thought of being apart from her was almost unbearable.

As he walked, Theo couldn't shake the fear that plagued him. If he gave her too much space, would she forget him? Would she decide that she was better off without him? The mere thought sent a shiver down his spine, the fear of losing her gripping him like a vise.

The devastation Theo felt was overwhelming, a suffocating weight that threatened to crush him beneath its relentless force. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Ariel, of losing the woman he loved more than anything in the world.

Finally, he reached the door to his room, his hand trembling as he reached for the handle. With a deep breath, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. His heart pounding with trepidation as he surveyed the familiar surroundings.

How could he make her understand that this was all a mistake? That despite Titan's influence, it was his own actions that had led to this mess? The weight of his guilt bore down on him like a leaden weight, suffocating him with its intensity.

He couldn't shake the memory of Ariel's warnings about Titan, her pleas for him to be cautious around his old friend. But he had brushed them aside, convinced that Titan was harmless, that their bond was unbreakable. How wrong he had been.

They had talked about boundaries, had made solemn promises to each other to never allow themselves to be in a situation that could jeopardize their relationship. And yet, here he was, standing in the aftermath of his own betrayal.

Theo sank onto the edge of the bed, his head in his hands as he wrestled with his thoughts. He knew he had to find a way to make things right, to prove to Ariel that he was worthy of her love and forgiveness. But where to begin?
