The plight of the daughters of The Aristocrats are that they are sold to the highest bidder to ensure peace between neighboring Dukedoms, Earldoms, and Baronies on Star Base 12.
A daughter is married off as early as 16 but not later than 18 years old, and sometimes as young as 14 but the marriage is not consummated until the girl comes to the age of 16 and then it is consummated.
The daughters of aristocrats are escorted by their fathers to their cotillions at the age of 15 years and also at the same cotillion stands the fathers with their sons between the ages of 15 and 17 looking for an eligible daughter for their sons to marry.
If the two fathers can agree and come to terms that their eldest son and daughter will marry. A marriage contract drawn up between the two Lords and a marriage date is set for the two young people.
Fathers of the daughters seek a title through marriage so they marry their daughters to the heir of neighboring Dukedoms, Earldoms, but most Dukes won't marry their daughters any lower than a Marquess or Earl.
Rarely does a Duke, Marquess, or Earl marry their daughters to a Viscount or Baron, as their daughters are not worthy, but the daughters born to Viscounts and Baron are often married off to a son of a Marquess or Earl for their daughters to gain a worthy title through marriage, but their father's paid a hefty dowry.
With the dowry comes a property that her father gives her as a part of her dowry and if a son fails to be born, that the daughter's child may inherit the Property and title.
In case of Lord John Howard, Duke of Norfolk who became Duke of Norfolk in 1483, as the only grandson of The First Duke of Norfolk with the surname of Mowbray, 1st duke of Norfolk whose daughter, Lady Margaret married Sir Robert Howard and it is their son, Lord John Howard who became the first Howard Duke of Norfolk in 1483.
Daughters are often married to heirs to the Dukedoms, Marquesses, Earldoms, Viscoutices, and Baronies to obtain peace.
