Recap...

"Fine, we'll stay here" I utter, unpleased, "But someone has to stay watch at all times"

Rhys nodded, "That would be best."

"Whatever you say, your majesty" Leif mocked.

I just sigh as my eyes darken. "Well, we should probably start coming up with ideas...

...on how to crash this wedding."

It had been almost 3 weeks since we broke into the palace. Since then, the security around the city had dramatically increased, along with propaganda that heavily promoted our surrender. It painted us as selfish runners, who stole the last of our world's magic.

Once that was all released, the undergrounds were in quite the uproar. Thankfully Leif was able to reason with them. Though, even so, we've still had multiple moments where even the people of the underground challenged our lives.

We were being watched with weary eyes down here. And we all knew it.

"Asch! Asch!" I hear Noi exclaim as he ran through the doors, disrupting the meeting Pierce, Rhys and I were having. The ginger-haired boy was heaving, trying to catch his breath. "They- They announced plans for the wedding"

"Already? So soon?" Rhys exclaimed.

My eyes shot wide. If anything, we were expecting they'd announce a divorce first- but the wedding? It was obvious father was desperate to finalize this before we could stop it. Just the thought made me growl.

"Your highness-" Pierce uttered, trying to comfort me. But I was seething.

"I never would've thought that old man would disregard the divorce matters entirely" I said as I clasped my hands on top of the table, letting my head lay atop of them.

"It might be possible he's making Ava the second lady-" Rhys uttered, his voice hitching in the back of his throat, "Or even, demoting Lady Bish to second lady-"

"His goal is to harvest Ava's magic" Pierce reminded us. We just nodded.

"That means he'll most likely be demoting Lady Bish to second lady" I slam my fists against the table. "Noi... fill us in"

Noi comes and joins us at the table quickly, reporting everything he had heard. Apparently, the wedding was to take place two moons from now. An open invitation wedding. A wedding in the night- a testimony to our goddess, Irene.

"Father is ridiculing us"

Rhys nodded, agreeing with me, "An open invitation wedding does sound like a set up. He must be counting on the fact that we show up to the wedding"

"What would he gain from that?" Pierce asked as he pondered, losing himself as he looked at the map infront of us.

"Probably more support for the propaganda" Noi chirped in.

He wasn't wrong. My father must be fuming at my betrayal. More now so than ever, seeing as I had nothing to show for it. But my life on Earth was so... peaceful. A foreign word to us Daemos. I never thought a peaceful life would be so enjoyable. And before I knew it, I was falling in love with Earth and it's odd but satisfying culture. And thus, I was slowly beginning to forget about this world. And the people I swore to protect.

A heavy sigh escaped me as I let myself recollect, "Your highness?" Rhys uttered, slightly concerned.

I just wave him off, "I'm okay, I just wish... life on Daemos could be like life on Earth" I said, mindlessly.
