Recap...

What was that? It felt so real... Was that... a memory? But, I never experienced that.

I look between the guys. All of them were looking at me with concern, but Asch. He looked at me as if dumbfounded. His mouth was left agape, and his eyes were widened as he stared at me.

I stared back at him, confused and scared.

"Did you just... look through my memories..?"

"Did I what?" I ask, my mouth left agape as I stare at Asch in shock.

"Asch are you saying Princess Ava went through your memories?" Rhys asked, no longer talking with Pierce, but fully intrigued by our sudden conversation. And frankly, I don't blame him.

Asch himself seemed lost. Or scared really. "It felt as if someone was prodding through my brain" He uttered with a shiver. "I don't know.. I was just suddenly reliving the moment I got hurt in Minshe City..."

My eyes widened. Did I really just go through his memory? "I- I don't know how I-"

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder, cutting off my stuttering mess. "It's okay" I hear Pierce's voice behind me. "We know"

I hang my head ashamed. They know just how clueless I am in regards to my magic. Somehow, that fact felt like such a burden.

I looked down at Asch's wounded leg. It was still unhealed. I frown. "Hey" I hear Asch call out. I look up, seeing him no longer in his flabbergasted state. "It's okay, it'll heal"

I just frown. I wanted to help. And the fact that I knew I could but didn't know how was starting to eat at me from the inside out.

Suddenly I feel a nudge on my arm. I look over, seeing a still drained Leif. "Here... I'll try my best to teach you what I know tomorrow..." He said before looking away. "...S-So.. stop looking so sad.."

My eyes widened as I listened to his words. I noticed how pink the tips of his ears became and I felt the corners of my lips begin to pull at a smile. I, too, quickly looked away, looking at the ground. Did I really look that sad?

A few hours later, everyone was passed out against the tree stumps. Well, everyone but Pierce and I. Pierce was designated to keep watch, while I on the other hand, couldn't sleep.

I look over at Pierce, who sat against the tree beside me, our eyes meeting. I quietly scoot over, now leaning against the same tree, side by side.

"You should be asleep" He said, looking into the darkness of the forest.

I shrugged. "Couldn't" I simply said, looking up at Pierce- noticing almost immediately how much taller he is, even when both of us are sat.

We both just sit in an awkward yet comfortable silence. The only things filling the air being the snores of the others, the crackling of the fire and the occasional tweets of the birds around us.

I peek at Pierce, taking in the details of his face. His sharp jawline, his carved out cheeks, the curve of his nose. And the piercing bright blue hue of his eyes that were both cold, yet so warm. But I guess I had stared a little too much since I watched his eyes turn to side eye me for a second.

"What?" He asked as he turned his head to look at me.

I quickly look away, face flushed. "Nothing, nothing" I say as I twiddled my thumbs for a bit before peeking back up at Pierce who was still staring. I look away again, shyly. "Say... Pierce?"
