Sam, Kai, and Jay sat in the theater fiddling with tapes that they had found in the storage room. Sam however, had brought her own. Jay saw her taking them out of her small purse. "What are those?" he asked. Sam looked at him startled. "Oh, they're just some old tapes I found sitting around. No clue what's on them."
"Let's find out." Jay said putting the first tape in. They looked at the screen and watched. The setting was a house. From the looks of it, there was a party. "Who's that woman?" He said as he pointed to a young woman who was holding a mans hand and walking with him. He was holding a camera and filming her. The film started to get more eerie once they realized the woman was acting drunk, and the guy wasn't saying anything. She continued to walk him throughout the house until they eventually reached the staircase. She walked him up, avoiding the people around her and stumbling here and there. People around her looked at her as if this behavior was normal. One girl looked at the woman and rolled her eyes.7:24 pm, April 16th, Nancy Jenkins Home, Ashwood, 1994
"Look at that slut go up there with Milo, oh my god!" Ella remarked towards Corey Johnson. Ella Hemsworth was a very opinionated girl. She was usually very real to people unless she had a genuine fear of someone. The girl she was slut-shaming was none but Julian Hemmings. She was all schools' want to be Regina George and she knew it. She also knew that the majority of the school hated her guts. She never cared though. Milo Ekker, one of the more popular jocks was being led up the stairs by Julian. He was moving his camera in different positions to get different angles.
"That's fucking sick" Nancy exclaimed as she stepped towards them with small cup of alcohol. Nancy was very tolerant when it came to substances such as drugs or alcohol, so she typically didn't have any problems unlike many others. "I don't know about you Nancy, but I think you should consider kicking them out. Only lord knows what they're going up there to do." Ella began ranting once again.
"Oh please, I think we all know what they're going up there to do." Corey stated hoping they were all thinking the same thing.
"Oh, hell no, not on my bed!" Nancy said as she shuffled up the stairs. The other two stayed downstairs with everyone else. Nancy had finally made it upstairs when she saw her bedroom door cracked open. Damnit! she thought to herself. She walked through her bedroom to a disturbing sight. Julian was completely undressed under a sheet and breathing harshly. Milo was nowhere to be seen. The she noticed bleeding seeping through the sheet. "Shit Julian! Hold on, let me go get help!"
Nancy covered her up completely and raced downstairs for her flip phone. She called the police and explained what had happen. No sooner than 15 minutes, there was an ambulance rolling Julian outside. Julian was raped that night. The suspect was Milo Ekker. He never showed on campus for two months after this. Charges were pressed. Some believed that some charges just weren't enough though. There were different views on the event. People were saying things such as "I bet she wanted it though" or "She definitely deserved it"
Some felt pity for her though. One girl was discussing it at her lunch table. "She may not be the nicest person, but no one should have to go through that." The rumors got to Julian soon. June 27th was the last time anyone had ever heard from her. She eventually grew her wings after taking her own life June 28th.Nancy was walking down the street one sunny day when her phone buzzed. It was an unknown number, but she picked it up anyways.
"Hello?" she greeted.
"Hello Nancy. Are you ready to be a legacy?" The caller asked.
"A wha-" There was a sudden beep. They had hung up. She looked around cluelessly. If only she knew what legacy she would be. These are the events that led everyone down a rabbit hole in the summer of 1994.Ashwood cinema, Ashwood, 6:49 PM, April 12th, 2024
The kids hadn't gotten to the crucial scenes before Evan Glor, the theatre manager, busted into the room. "Now you kids just take that tape out!" he demanded. They obeyed immediately. Mr. Glor wasn't typically a strict man, so this was an unusual reaction. Sam stuffed it back in her backpack.
"My apologies sir, we were just seeing what these tapes were." Sam apologized. He put his hand on his forehead and took a huge sigh.
"Look, it's fine. That tape is just.. more than just a casual party hookup." He stated as he gestured the kids out of the theatre for the day. They left without hesitation."That was weird, don't you think?" Kai asked, trying to get Sam and Jay to talk.
"I wouldn't get into it if we don't need to. Unnecessary drama." Jay suggested.
"I'm going with Jay on this one. It's not our business Kai" Sam said shrugging.
"I'll just dig into myself then. He definitely knows something. Maybe that tape is a useful piece of evidence."
Jay took a huge, long sigh. "Kai, we didn't even watch it all the way."
"I will then. Sam hand it over." Kai said putting her hand out to Sam.
"Have at it." Sam said as she dropped the tape into Kais' palm.
"I'll let you guys know what I find, alright?" she said as she skipped her way home.
Sam and Jay stood there bamboozled.
"Do you think Evan has something to do with what's going on?" Jay asked Sam. She was staring at the sunset. The sun was going down unusually early tonight.
"We don't even know if that tape has anything to do with this situation. That would be an interesting plot twist though." They both chuckled. They walked and talked until they had to split ways to go home. Oh, how the sun was setting so early that night in Ashwood.
