JANHAVI

As the morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the breakfast table, I couldn't shake the weight of the previous night's revelations from my mind. My conversation with Shubman had shed new light on Ishan ji's past, revealing a painful truth that I had been oblivious to before. All the anger and resentment I had harbored towards him after the reception incident had melted away, replaced by a deep sense of empathy.

He has gone through a lot.

I glanced across the table at Ishan ji, who was lost in thought, his expression pensive as he stirred his tea. I wanted to reach out to him, to offer some measure of comfort in the wake of everything he had endured. But before I could find the right words, there was a knock at the door, interrupting the quiet moment between us.

Ishan glanced up, surprise flickering across his features as a man entered the room, his demeanor solemn and professional.

"Good morning, Ishan sir," the man greeted, his voice tinged with authority. "I'm your lawyer. We need to discuss some important matters regarding your recent decision."

Ishan's brow furrowed in confusion as he exchanged a quick glance with me. "My recent decision?" he echoed, his tone being uncertain.

The lawyer nodded, taking a seat at the table as he unfolded a stack of papers before him. "Yes, regarding the divorce proceedings with Mrs. Kishan," he clarified, his eyes scanning the documents in front of him.

Ishan ji nodded, and leaned forward. "Actually our registry is not yet done" he said.

My thoughts wandered off.

He appointed a lawyer just after I mentioned divorce.

And as the lawyer launched into a discussion of legal intricacies and procedural details, I couldn't keep listening to them, I was too distracted to.

The mention of divorce by Janhavi ji was too much for me but I didn't express it even a bit. If she wants divorce then she should get it.

Obviously why would she stick with me. Aditi ne bola tha na, I'm very difficult to live with.

The lawyer was here talking about the formalities of our case.

"Sir you said that you haven't done the registry yet, then you are not lawfully wedded to Mrs Kishan"

I nodded in agreement.

"Sir so if you want, you can get separated from her today itself but as far as I think, that would do much harm to your public image."
