"tere bina guzara
ae dil hai mushkil"ISHAN
All the rituals were done and today we were supposed to return back to Mumbai.
The morning started with Shiku waking me up by poking fingers into my eyes. "Are utho na kitna sote hai ye!", he was saying pointing at me.
"Are baba uth Gaya", I said sitting up.
He made a face at me and went away. I was in slumber when someone entered the room.
"Tum uth gaye?", said Janhavi.
I looked up to see her dressed in a pale blue sari, with the pallu open and her hair, open and dripping wet. She was looking ethereal.
"Dekh kya rahe ho?", she asked consciously looking at herself.
"Tumhe" I replied honestly.
She opened her mouth but closed it again. Pressing her lips tightly, she came closer to me. She bended forward to have a clear view of my face.
Is she going to kiss me?
Shit shit shit I haven't brushed yet!"Tumhari tabiyat thik haina? You look very tired.", she said putting her palm on my forehead to check my temperature.
Kya soch raha tha main. Chutiya
"Why is your heart beating so fast? Bahar tak sunaai de rahi hai! Your temperature is kinda high as well", she asked in a concerned tone.
She looked at me with questioning eyes.
"Should I call a doctor?", she asked.
"Dil ki kya galti? Aap hamare itne kareeb kadhi rahengi to dhadkan to badhegi hi na? Upar se itni sundar dikhrahi hain", I said touching her cheeks.
"You're acting like a schoolboy jisne pehli baar apne crush ko sari mein dekha ho", she said chuckling and blushing.
I was blushing so badly that I couldn't muster up a reply.
She smirked at me.
Suddenly, my phone started buzzing, interrupting the seclusion. I looked at the caller ID to see that my lawyer was calling.
As soon as I picked up the phone and put it on speaker so that Janhavi would be able to hear as well, the lawyer started speaking, seemingly annoyed.
"Ishan sir I called Vivaan sir thrice, he didn't pick up the call so I finally called you. Sir you know very well that divorce cases take atleast six months. Maine bohot difficulty se ye hearing itni jaldi arrange karwaya tha. I understand that you have an emergency but kal hi hearing ka last date hai. If you guys postpone it then main aur kuch nahi kar paunga. You'll have to wait for atleast six months for the divorce then", he finished at a go.
A looked up at Janhavi to see her reaction. She looked very tensed and had started sweating in a cold AC room. She was looking down, not making an eye contact at me intentionally.
"Ishan sir? You're there?", spoke the lawyer to break my trance.
"Uh yes wait a moment", I said.
I looked at Janhavi again, if I saw even a trace of sadness on her face, I'll cancel this fucking divorce.
But no, she was not sad. She seemed to be mentally preparing herself, she was looking determined.
So she is ready for the divorce.
She looked up at me, and smiled faintly. I searched her eyes for a hint of pain? But there was none. They were looking calm yet fierce and beautiful ofcourse.... This ain't the time to get lost in her eyes.
