"So kiddo, do you know anything about the audition?" my dad asked as he was eating dinner. "Um, I didn't know anything about it, just that is was for a movie, but I had to call Andy to clear some things up and he told me that I auditioned for a Marvel movie." When those words left my mouth, my parents looked at each other, not knowing if I was joking with them.

"Wait, are you serious?" I just nodded. "That's amazing, kiddo! I'm so proud of you." My dad walked over to me and hugged me, and my mother did the same.

My dad is a very big Marvel fan. He has been reading comics since he was a little boy, and quite literally has every single Marvel comic known to man. His passion for the comics and the stories of the heroes just grew more and more as time passed. He started collecting action figures and one of a kind items that would cost a fortune nowadays. He was the one who got me invested in the movies and comics. Well, movies a lot more than the comics, but you get what I mean. So just hearing me say that I may be in a Marvel movie, made him jump in excitement like a kid in a candy store.

"When will you find out if you got the part? Maybe we can go to grandmas and get my old comics on my day off, you can use them to study your role a little more" that's actually not a bad idea. I mean, I don't know if I'm gonna get the part, but even if I don't get it, I would just be happy with reading the comics for fun. "Sure dad, that would be great, thanks".

The rest of dinner was spent talking about random things and how my dad's day at work was, and just overall joked and laughed for the most part of dinner.

My dad is a neurosurgeon and my mom is a midwife, so I don't get to see them together at the same time because of their work schedules. When all three of us are at home at the same time, I try to cherish every moment, because I don't know when another one will happen.

After dinner I helped my mom clean up and decided to go for a drive to keep my mind busy. "I'm going for a drive, I don't know what time I'm gonna be back." "Okay, drive safe" my parents told me as I was slipping my shoes on and leaving the house. I called my friend Hannah to see if she wanted to go with me.

After a few rings, she answered the call in her usual cheerful voice. "Hey Lan, what are you up to?" "Nothing much, just wanted to ask if you wanted to go for a drive with me?" "Sure, I'm very bored right now so a drive would be great" thank God she said yes. "Awesome, I'll be there in 15 minutes." "See you then Lan." I hung up and turned on the radio.

The song 505 by the Arctic Monkeys was on and I'm loving it. After a few songs, I was in front of Hannah's house waiting for her. She closed the front door and bolted to my car. I swear if she could, she would've jumped through the window.

"Hey there cutie" she said in a joking manner. "Well hello there sugar" I replied joking just as much as her. "So, where we going?" "I don't know, we could just drive around, see where the road takes us"

"You know what, that's one of the better ideas you've had in a long time. Can I have the aux?" I laughed at her statement and handed her the cord which she gladly took and started playing some music.

We listened everything. From Taylor Swift to Olivia Rodrigo and Lana Del Ray. You name it, we sang it. After some time of driving and laughing our butts off. We found ourselves in a park on the swings where we used to play in elementary school.

"So, what's been going on with you?" she asked out of the blue. "What do you mean?" I was a little taken aback by her question, not knowing what answer to give her. "Lana come on. I have known you for a long time and know when something isn't sitting right with you. So please, spill."

"I auditioned for a movie today." "That's amazing, how did it go?" "I don't know yet but I'm really on edge, I sent my self tape a few hours ago, but I don't think I got it." by this time I started fiddling with my fingers, I felt like my heart was gonna grow legs, jump out of my chest and run away. "Well whatever happens, I think you did amazing, and even if you don't get it there will be an even bigger project waiting for you." she grabbed my hand as a sign of reassurance.

We continued to swing on the swings and talk about the most random things, I mean, it's summer after all, we don't have anything else to do. We eventually got bored and decided to go home.

Just as I was about to start the car, I got a notification on my phone. I took it out of my pocket and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
It was another email from Marvel studios.
