That night, my parents didn't come home. The hospitals got crowded, I guess. It was normal for my dad not to come home for two or three days at a time. He was a surgeon, so he never knows when a surgery can prolongate or if complications happen, God forbid. But for my mom to not come home after a shift didn't happen often.
I grabbed my phone from my nightstand that was next to my bed and checked it before getting up. My mom sent me a message that she was covering another nurses shift. Now that that was cleared up, I got out of bed and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
I went basic today and just made oatmeal and chopped some fruit to go with it. I'm trying to get some fuel in since I planned to go on a run before kickbox.
For all of you that don't know, I have a lot of built up anger that I need to expel. So I started kickboxing last year and it has helped a lot.
After finishing the oatmeal and washing the dishes, I went back to my room. I got ready for the run and packed my bag for practice that I put in the car before starting my run.

-As I pulled up in the driveway of my family home, I noticed that both of my parents cars were there. I grabbed my bag and walked into the house, taking my shoes off at the door.
"I'm home" I said as I walked further into the house. "In the kitchen Lan" My mom was making lunch, still in her scrubs. "How was practice?" "It was good, went on a run before practice and my legs are killing me." she just laughed at me and continued to make lunch. "Do you need any help?" "No, I'm almost done. Why don't you get changed and fetch your dad on your way back." "Okay mom, by the way, I have something to tell you later."
I took a quick shower since I was drenched in sweat and put on some clean clothes before going to find my dad. He was in the garage, unloading some boxes from his car. "Dad, what are you doing?" "I went to grandmas and got the comics I was telling you about." "Let me help you with that" I helped him with the rest of the boxes, there were a lot of them. "We did a great job champ" my dad said as he gave me a fist bump and ruffled my hair. I swatted his hand away before remembering why I came to find him in the first place. "I forgot to tell you, lunch is ready." "Well then, what are you waiting for? Let's go" he hurried into the dining room with me on his tail where mom was waiting for us.
We sat down and started eating. As some time passed I decided to tell them about the details of the audition. "I got a call about the audition yesterday. It's on July 29th, but I'll have to stay for a whole week and I can bring anyone with me as long as I inform them about the number of people that will be staying with me. So I was wondering, if you were free to come with me" "Oh honey, I have surgeries all throughout July and they can't postpone them. I'm very sorry." "I'm already scheduled for double shifts and some seminars on giving birth, I don't think I can move it, I'm sorry honey."
"It's okay guys, I understand" "You'll do great on your own, we'll be just a call away" Damn, that hurt a little. "Yeah, for sure." after that I continued to eat my lunch after which I went to my room.
I have to admit, I was sad that they couldn't come with me since this was a big deal and a milestone for me, but there was nothing I could do to change it. I decided to inform Amanda about the number of people going and went to take a nap.

-Today's the day, I'm going to London. I got up very early so I could triple check if I packed everything I need and so I could get to the airport on time. Since they couldn't come with me, my parents are driving me so they could say a proper goodbye. I put my suitcase in the trunk of my dad's car and got in.
The ride was peaceful with some smalltalk here and there, nothing major for 5 in the morning. I'm still bummed that not even one of them could come, but whatever. We got to the airport right on time and I had to go. Saying goodbye to my parents was a little hard, mostly because my mom was about to cry like I was never coming back, but she pulled herself together. We had one last group hug before I needed to leave. "Have a safe trip, call us when you get there" my dad said and gave me one last squeeze. "Okay dad, um, I can't breathe" he let me go and we said our last goodbyes before I made my way to check in.
After checking my luggage in and waited for a little, it was time to board. As I was going towards the gate, I was becoming a little nervous. I have flown before, but I still get anxious about it. I was so in my head that I didn't even notice that there was a person in front of me until our bodies collided. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry" I said as I bent down to grab the passport that fell out of the person's hand. "It's okay, don't stress it" the voice was like a melody.
When I straightened back up to give them their password, I was met with the most beautiful chocolate eyes ever. She had little bangs scattered across her forehead and a smile that could light up a whole room. I stood there like an idiot just admiring the girl that stood in front of me before I shook some sense into myself and gave her passport back. "I believe this is yours" I tried to cover the fact that I was googly eyed just a moment ago, but I don't think it did anything to help my case.
"It is, thank you" "I'm really sorry for bumping into you like that" "It's no problem, it can happen to anyone." Just as I was about to reply, my flight got called and I had to wrap up the conversation. "I have to get going. Are you sure everything's okay?" the girl started to giggle "Yes, I'm 100% sure" "Okay, see you later, I owe you coffee the next time we see eachother." "Fine by me, see you."
With that, I started to head towards my gate, but had a feeling that I forgot something. I kept on walking, and for the life of me I couldn't remember what I forgot. Just as I boarded the plane and found my seat, I remembered. "Shit, I didn't get her name" You've got to be kidding me.
