Surprises and Second Chances

I didn't know what to think right now. I might have just blown a one in a lifetime opportunity. "You couldn't have been that bad. What makes you think you blew it?" Harrison tried to lighten the mood a little. "My stunt test wasn't even 15 minutes long, the only thing they made me do is run and do barrel rolls." "Maybe that's a good thing." "I don't know what to think anymore" Harrison gave me an apologetic smile through the rear view window. "Why don't you get some rest when you get to your hotel room, and then I can't show you around London, if you would like." "That would be amazing, thank you Harrison." "No problem Lana, just don't worry about the audition too much" "I'll try"

We talked about random things before arriving to the hotel. I went up to my room and launched myself onto the bed, not bothering to let my parents know that I was back. I set an alarm so I don't overslept, and let the myself enter its most vulnerable state as it was being dragged into the dark abyss.

I kept tossing and turning in bed so I decided to just get up. It was 5 pm in London right now, meaning that it should be 9 am in Los Angeles. I haven't talked to Hannah since before I left for London and it feels like it's been ages. If I remember correctly, she had a volleyball game this morning, so she must be up. I opened my contacts and dialed her number. After two rings it went straight to voice mail. That's weird, normally she answers, but that's when I got a notification.

Hannie:

Can't talk rn

I'm out with Heather

Heather? Why would she be out with her, she has hated her since elementary school.

That was really weird. I tossed my phone on the other side of the and got up so I could get ready. I took a quick shower and all the usual things and got dressed. The weather was nice outside, so I put on a sundress with white converse and I put my hair in a claw clip. After I finished getting ready, I texted Harrison and he told me that he would come to pick me up shortly.

After about 20 minutes, I got a message that he was outside and made my way to the lobby where he was waiting for me. We got in the car and he started driving to a location I still didn't know. "So, where are we going?" "You'll have to wait and see" "Oh come on, are you seriously not gonna tell me?" I just received a look through the rear view. "Can I at least get a hint?" "Nope" that just made me groan. "For all I know, you could be a serial killer" "Funny". We went back and forth until we got out of the car and started walking to what appeared to be a park.

"This is Holland Park. One of my favorite places in all of London, and I figured it should be the first place to take you. Slowly get into London, if you know what I mean" "It's really beautiful" "Let's take a walk, shall we?" "We shall".

The park was really magnificent, it was covered in greenery and there were animals all around the park. In one section of the park, there was an old castle that just added to the parks beauty. I made Harrison take a million pictures of me all around the park and we continued to walk around taking in the beautiful weather and talking about all sorts of stuff.

After the park, we went to a lot of different places. The Sky Garden, London Eye, Notting Hill. You name it, I've seen it. I got some amazing photos to post on Instagram and forgot about the possibly disastrous audition from this morning.

When the sun set, we made our way back to the car. "Okay, okay, I have a good one. Are you in a relationship?" I'm sorry but I had to ask him, he's too good not to be in a relationship. "I am actually, I've been with my fiancée for six years now, the best years of my life so far. What about you?" "I'm single, haven't really found someone yet." "Oh come on, there has to be someone." "Well there is this one guy from my school that just won't leave me alone. I went out with him once just to get him off my back and now he won't leave me alone." "That's bad. Do you like him?" "No, and I've told him many times, but he just doesn't seem to take no for an answer."

What I said was true, but another reason was because I haven't really been attracted to any guy so long. "Everything will fall back into place. Now, I have a question. What did you love doing as a child that people thought was weird?" "You're really about to go there?"

Harrison pulled up in front of the hotel and opened the door for me. "Thank you so much for today, I really appreciate everything you are doing for me." "It was no biggie, that's my job. Plus, Angelica is out of town for a business meeting, so I'm trying to keep myself occupied until she gets back." I gave him a quick hug, which he surprisingly returned. "You know, you're a really good friend." "You're a really good friend too Lana. Now go get some sleep." "Goodnight" "Night".

I haven't even known him a full day, yet it feels like I've known him forever. He's like an older brother I never had. And if any of you were wondering, no I don't like him that way. I don't know what I like to be honest. It's all so confusing.

I was scrolling through Netflix so I could find a show to watch since I was bored and had nothing else to do. My parents were at work and Hannah hasn't returned my call, which is unusual for her. I'll try again tomorrow. My phone started to ring and I thought it was Hannah, but unfortunately it wasn't. It was Andy, he never calls me this late, so it must be important. "Hey Andy." "Hey Lana, how's London?" "It's great." "That's good to hear, I have something to tell you" "What's up?" "I got an email from Marvel, they want you in tomorrow for a chemistry read." "Wait, really?" "Yeah, so it's going to be at 2 pm. You know where to go right?" "My driver Harrison should know, they update him on that type of stuff." "Great, let me know how it goes" "Will do, bye." "Bye".

What the fuck just happened.
