Rimuru POV
I awoke the next morning with a strange sensation of something on my chest. When I opened my eyes to appraise the situation, I found a beautiful woman had wrapped herself in my arms and was laid across me while I had slept. I blushed heavily upon realizing that it was Ciel, having not immediately recognized her after she had changed her appearance yesterday. After a moment of just gazing at her beautiful appearance, she stirred from her slumber. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes before greeting me, her cheeks turning slightly red as she saw me staring at her.
"Good morning to you as well Ciel. I take it you finished the basic framework of the city last night?" I asked her as I began to sit up in the bed. She just nodded at my question while looking at me expectantly. I sighed when I realized what she wanted, before giving her a gentle head pat and praising her efforts. She gave a warm smile while receiving the praise. As I finished and was getting out of bed, a knock on the door grabbed my attention. "Rimuru-sama, are you awake?" Testarossa's voice rang out from the other side of the door.
"I am. Is there anything you need Testa?" At my response, the door opened and Testarossa entered the room carrying a tray of tea and breakfast, but stopped after only few steps. Her gaze had landed upon Ciel, who was still sitting in the bed. Multiple emotions seemed to flash across her face at the same time: shock, confusion, anger, with a hint of jealousy and envy. I could understand the first 3, but seeing the last 2 left me a little confused. Ciel met her gaze before standing from the bed and striding over to Testarossa and stopping just in front of her.
"Hello Testarossa, it's a pleasure to meet you. I am Ciel Tempest, Master's eternal partner and wife (self-proclaimed)." At her words, Testarossa accidentally dropped the tray carrying the tea in pure shock. Luckily, Ciel's reflexes allowed her to catch it with ease as she gave a self-satisfied smile towards her. "M-my Lord's w-wife?!?!?" She stammered out as she looked at me, as if to confirm the words she had just heard. I sighed as I watched the interaction between the 2 of them. "She is both correct and incorrect at the same time. Correct in the aspect that she is my partner and we are bonded at the soul, however, we are not currently married. Ciel, I feel like you're purposely misleading her for some reason."
At my words, Testarossa had a small look of hope and confusion cross through her eyes while Ciel looked upset and began to pout as she placed the tray on the table near the window of the room. "It's just your imagination Master." Her iconic line came out and she refused to look at me while Testarossa just observed the situation in amusement. Before anything else could get out of hand, I went over to the table and sat down to begin my breakfast.
While I began to dig into my breakfast, Ciel sat down on the chair across from me, still pouting and refusing to look at me, while Testa stood behind me diligently. "Rimuru-sama, if you don't mind me asking, what are your plans for the day?" Testarossa asked me as I finished eating and began to sip on my tea. I set my cup down while contemplating what I would do. "I imagine I will receive a reply from King Gazel via Henrietta at some point today. You will accompany me for this meeting Testa, as I know your negotiation skills are top notch."
At my words, Testarossa blushed a little. Ciel just crossed her arms and continued to pout. I sighed at her behavior before standing up and walking over to her and gently patting her head in attempt to calm her. "There, there Ciel. There's no need to be jealous you know? I rely on you for a lot of different matters other than diplomacy don't I?" Ciel uncrossed her arms and happily accepted the head pats given to her. I turned towards Testarossa once more before continuing.
"So while we wait for Henrietta to appear, why don't we tour the city in the meantime? Testa, I will be out in just a moment." At my words, Testarossa simply bowed slightly before turning to exit the room. I turned towards Ciel once more before giving her a small smile. "I believe there is also the matter of your reward for finishing your work, was there not?" Ciel looked away at my words before responding. "While I appreciate the gesture Master, it is not necessary. Being able to spend last night sleeping by your side was more than enough for me."
