DAISY NOTT

I picked up my books and walked towards the castle taking in the last of the sun before it disappeared behind a dark cloud looming ahead, it was going to thunder and I never miss a storm.

In a rush I hurried through the corridors and to my dorm. Chucking my bag on the bed I changed into sweats and a soft hoodie, it hung around my frame as I tied my hair into a loose low pony. I knew it was past curfew but still I walked silently through the corridors. As I climbed the steps to the astronomy tower a candle flickered from the top floor. I froze.

"Who's there." A deep voice echoed.
I reached the top step prepared for a lecture until I looked up and was met with those piercing eyes.
"You?" He spat. "Merlin you spooked me." He took a deep breath out.
"I'm so so sorry! I really didn't mean to scare you, I just came to watch the storm and and-"
"It's fine." He sighed cutting my rambling off as he gazed over the railing and into the deep, star painted sky.

I walked slowly over towards him. He looked down at me with a stone cold face.
"Again I really didn't know you were here and I'm sorry-"
"Look I've come up here for peace so just.. be quiet yeah?" He replied annoyed.
I nodded quickly, as I too looked out at the sky, it rumbled as the rain crackled and fell against the stone of the castle. It filled the thick silence looming in the room.

It seemed if hours went by until he moved.

"It's oddly relaxing isn't it?" He spoke quietly looking away from me as if ashamed for admitting such a thing.
"Mmhm, thunderstorms are my favourite thing." I whispered back.

He looked down at me, his eyes filled with a sadness so deep it radiated from his being.
The pain was so strong I could feel it, it ached, it stabbed even. It was so heavy he couldn't lift it and it was even apparant on his face in the candlelight ever so slightly.
This was the side of Draco Malfoy no one saw. Not the bully side I had heard so much about.
The real Draco Malfoy just a sad boy.
A hurt boy.

His gaze softened as I smiled sympathetically at him, I saw a flicker of light in his eyes until he looked out towards the moon again. His demeanour changing as he cleared his throat and began to walk away.
"Goodnight Daisy." He grumbled quietly seemingly forcing the words out of his mouth.
I watched as he left the tower.
