DAISY NOTT
The warmth of Hogwarts cocooned me as I stepped into the corridors, the smell of old books floating through each room. The soft, dimmed lights slowing each blink as my eyes hung heavy. Hushed chatter echoed each turn as the candles began to lose flame, darkness wrapped the castle.
Theo stroked my shoulder spinning me round to face him as he stopped, lingering by the Slytherin common room. Blaise entered whispering the password as he smiled at me sweetly before disappearing behind the painting.
"Are you going to be okay?" His eyes widening as he looked down at my face.
"Mhm." I sighed attempting to put on a brave face.
"You forget I'm your twin Dais, I feel what you feel." He sighed slowly.
I looked behind Theo and saw Draco leaning against the wall; his eyes wide focused on my face, watching my facial expressions like a hawk. He almost looked like he actually cared about what was happening, until he saw me catching a glance and he hurriedly snuck behind the painting.
"Look- you can stay in my dorm tonight, I'll sleep on my cushions, I'll just chuck them on the floor. I'm worried about you."
"Theo, I really don't wanna get in trouble. Especially-"
"I'll cover for you okay?" He smiled, "It's all good!"
My head instantly jumped to the sickening thought of Mcgonagle finding out, expulsion or even worse detention for the year with her. But I thought back to the girls at the dorm and nothing could convince me to go back there tonight.
"Okay." I sighed tiredly, as Theo whispered the slytherin password.
"Wait here I need to check who's there, okay?" He exclaimed slipping through the painting slowly.
I ran my fingers through my hair, focusing on my breath. In, out. In, out. I guess, I really didn't expect Dad's death to affect me in a different way to Theo. He was always closer with Dad anyways but even the thought of him now causes an eruption of pain in my heart. A deep low pain that lingers consuming me. Still, I'm so lucky to have Theo now.
"Come on Nott." Draco appeared jolting me out of my thoughts. Ushering me towards the painting with a stern look on is face.
My eyes met his as I glimpsed a flash of something bright flowing through his eyes.
DRACO MALFOY
She hesitated, before moving swiftly through the painting following me. I watched as her eyes widened taking in the common room. Its large marbled arches sculpting the room, the falling ivy wrapping the thick oak beams. The large brown leather sofas providing a sense of comfort and the warm fireplace casting a shadow on the tiled floors.
Her breathing slowed falling into a steady pattern, a sense of comfort seemed to wash over as she flashed a small smile towards me.
"You are unlike any hufflepuff I've ever known." I turned to her.
"Hmm, am I supposed to take that as an insult?" She replied, a smirk blooming on her face, a cheeky glint in her eye looking up at me.
Theo stumbled down the steps coming into view and I took a stride backwards away from her.
"Come on, before anyone sees you!" He hurriedly hushed.
