I walked through the bustle of the streets to get to the crow club. People were shoving by me to get into the warmth of the crow club. Great. At least you'll be warm and put money in our coffers. I thought as I walked in. I scanned the club, looking for anyone who might be cheating. I spotted Jesper at one of the tables, examining a coin from the man across from him.

"Zemini coin can take a bullet, but the knock off." He trailed off winking as he threw the coin in the air. I heard a shot being fired and jumped slightly, my lips pressed in a thin line. The coin caught my eye as it landed on the table with a perfect hole in the middle. I signaled to the guards and pointed to Jesper's table.

"What dose that prove? Hey, get off me!" He shouted as the guard's dragged him off. I heard a cane slam on the table as Jesper went to collect the money.

"No loud noises at the table Jesper. You'll scare off the pigeons." Kaz said, shaking his head slightly.

"Wouldn't want that boss." Jesper replied primly. Kaz gave him a knowing glance.

"Shouldn't you be on the door?" He asked.

"Yeah, right away boss." Jesper replied. Kaz signaled to me from across the room and I followed him, Rotty close on our heels.

"Bit early for action isn't it? Kaz? Rose?" He asked us, trailing behind us.

"What do you want Rotty?" I asked.

"Right. Someone stloe a DeKappel from a mercher residence last night, worth something like 10'000 kruge. You know, oil on parchment."

"We know who DeKappel is." Kaz said coldly.

"Well he don't do nuds so I've never heard of him." Rotty joked. I sent him a cold glare.

"Get to it Rotty." I said harshly.

"Right well the thief had to get past high fences, padlocked doors, four guards, guard dogs and a security system made by one of them Grisha witches." He told us. Kaz and I had been observing the crow club but now my gaze snapped to his.

"Excuse me? Gonna call me a witch now are you?" I asked coldly.

"Sorry boss." He replied.

"You better be." I said back.

"Is there a point to all of this?" Kaz asked.

"The point is either it was a group effort or a ghost." Rotty said.

"Why dose this concern us?" Kaz asked.

"I've got a buyer lined up. Legit money, so uh, if you hear a whisper." He trailed off, clicking his tongue before winking at us. I leaned in.

"Who could hear a whisper here?" I asked, before smirking and turning on my heel. I walked up the staircase that lead to the room Kaz and I shared, Kaz trailing behind me. Kaz shut the door to the room behind us and I turned around, raising my hands. The door locked and we walked into the bedroom. The office was the first thing you saw when you walked in. A desk made of crates with a door propped on the top. Hanging on the wall was a DeKappel of the fold. The vary one Rotty had been describing to us in the club. I saw Kaz smirk while looking at it as we went into the bedroom.

"Why did we have to listen to him ramble on about the heist we pulled last night?" I asked Kaz as I took a seat on the bed. Kaz want over to the wash basin and took his coat off, tossing it on the bed beside me.

"I wanted to see if his buyer was paying more than mine." Kaz said simply, removing his gloves and turning the water on. If Kaz had claws he was hiding them well, but than again I apparently had wings.
