Grian made straight for the closest Watcher he could see to attack it. He quickly transformed into his Watcher state and started shooting balls of scarlet energy at the copper-colored Watcher. The Watcher swiped around in the air and made a brown energy shield that deflected Grian's attacks.
Gritting his teeth, Grian tried again but it still didn't work. "You are a terrible fighter, Xelqua." The bronze Watcher pointed out with a smug grin. "My name is Grian!" Grian yelled, trying again and again and again to no avail.
"You may be decent enough in pvp for a mortal," The other Watcher went on, "But you haven't really practiced with your Watcher powers at all, have you? Imagine the strength you could have been at now if you'd just actually put some work and effort into it. But then again, now I get to be the one to slay the infamous Xelqua, the first rogue Watcher."
"I am not a Watcher anymore!" Grian shouted, flapping his wings and hovering majestically in the air. "And my name is Grian!" With that he summoned more energy and shot beams of it at the brown Watcher. He grinned and simply dodged all of the attacks.
"Unlike you, Xelqua, I've been practicing with my powers." The Watcher said. "And because of that one little difference, I am now more powerful than you, even if you were a Watcher before me." "Stop calling me Xelqua!" Grian hissed as he started to resort to simply punching and kicking the Watcher with no physical effect.
The other Watcher laughed as he caught Grian's foot and then spun him around and slammed him into the ground, making the hermit feel dizzy and dazed. "Why should I? Does it make you mad, Xelqua?" With an inhuman roar Grian yanked his foot out of the Watcher's grasp, spun around, then did a flip and kicked upward hard enough to make him stumble backwards.
The Watcher rubbed his throbbing jaw, grinning. "Better." He said. "But I still would've expected more from the first rogue Watcher, Xelqua." Grian just shouted something no one could understand and rushed the Watcher, throwing spheres of energy and just trying to hit him in general. But nothing seemed to work.
Then the copper-colored Watcher hit him hard enough to knock him to the ground senseless. Dazed and seeing triple, Grian almost didn't notice when his opponent summoned a rusty blade of energy around his fist and drove it downward to pierce his heart in a single fatal move.
Then there was a pale cyan flash and Scott in his Listener form tackled the Watcher into the dirt and the dust. With one hand he started squeezing his throat and with his free hand he started healing up Grian. Once he regained his senses he sat up quickly and rushed to Scott.
"You handle this one! I've got to rescue Joel!" Scott shouted as he was knocked aside by the brown Watcher. He furiously tried to stab the Listener but Scott smugly stuck his tongue out at him before teleporting in a flash of light blue light across the battlefield to where Joel was busy being beaten up by a pink Watcher.
"Don't let him make you mad!" Scott suddenly shouted before he was out of range. Grian blinked before he realized what the Listener meant. Of course. The Watcher continuously calling me Xelqua... saying I'm weak... it was to get me mad. To make me not focus. While making the other Watchers stronger by being able to feed on my negative emotions.
Grian quickly dodged out of the way as he was startled from his reverie by the fact that a Watcher was flying towards him with both of his fists sheathed up in bronze blades. Grian flapped to the side and flinched as his shoulder was nicked by the very tip of one of the blades. It really, really hurt.
