Twice a year Monaco became even more crowded than usual: once for the Monaco Grand Prix and once for the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters.

Therefore some could think that formula one and tennis were the only two sports that seemed prestigious enough to be presented at the little monarchy at the french riviera.

Both events were packed with celebrities, athletes and really everyone else with influence and money. The difference between the two was, that Lando was not just a visitor at one, he was competing himself.

The Monaco Grand Prix was the most luxurious in the calendar, but to be able to watch another sport and not to worry about his own performances was refreshing. It was the weekend of the Monte Carlo Masters and he was looking forward to watch some good tennis matches in the next few days.

He didn't really know who would turn up this weekend, but Max was the one accompanying him this weekend. He really needed some time away from racing and the other drivers anyway, so Max was the perfect choice.

Even though he was happy to not see the same faces as usual this weekend, there was one driver in particular he missed nonetheless. He hasn't heard much from Carlos in the past weeks and it bothered him, because he really missed him lately. However all he saw on social media, his only source of information about Carlos in the last weeks, was him biking or being with his newest "girlfriend".

It was really either his bike or Rebecca that were always by his side lately and to be honest it annoyed Lando. He couldn't be jealous of a bike, but of her? That he could be. He wasn't sure if it was a real thing between them or just PR , because Carlos didn't speak to him about it, but since she appeared it seemed like Carlos had only time for her. Besides not being sure about it, Lando knew Carlos and therefore, he was sure that they were probably fucking too. Regardless of what their true relationship looked like.

But Lando didn't want to think about all of this and that was another reason why he brought Max. Besides the fact that the two of them didn't really got along that well, Lando never told Carlos if Max and him were ever more than friends. Right now, he really enjoyed that fact. Nothing had ever happened between them, but Carlos doesn't have to know that. Much to Lando's luck Max would also bring some friends that were mostly female, so there's that. If Carlos wanted to play the game of jealousy, he could have it.

It's not like him and Carlos were in a proper relationship, but it's complicated. It always was. They've dated before, back when they both were in McLaren, but hey broke it off after Carlos left for Ferrari. It would've been too difficult sharing their private life together, while having to be opponents at work. However, it turned out that breaking up wasn't much easier than staying together. They just couldn't be friends, they were always more and Lando didn't know if they could ever be anything less.

On the other hand he never knew what they were since they broke it off. He wouldn't call them friends with benefits, but since they were not together and also not nothing, what else should he call it? They even fell back into old habits a few times, so it's probably the right name for whatever they have going on. Lando knew that he wasn't the only one who still had feelings, he knew that Carlos feels the same way but somehow, they're making it difficult. For themselves and for everyone else. 

Another thing was that he knew that Carlos was not ready to out himself as bisexual and Lando respects that. He isn't even sure if he wants to out himself to the world, but he would be okay if they were an open secret in the paddock.
