Lando has had a crush on Carlos for probably five years now.

At first he thought it was just admiration for the older, but rather sooner than later he discovered it was more than that. He discovered that he has a crush on his best friend and teammate back then. A lot time has passed since then, but his feelings only got stronger. Of course there were times where his crush was fading, but most times just to come back stronger than ever.

Then two years ago when Carlos left McLaren, Lando knew it wasn't only a little crush anymore. He was in love with Carlos and as the realization hit him, he also felt his heart break. They wouldn't be on the same team next year and he wouldn't have the opportunity to spend so much time with Carlos anymore.

Not that Carlos would ever fall in love with him, since he's like the straightest men Lando has ever seen in the paddock, but Lando still knew he would miss him like hell.

To be fair, a few things changed since then.

On a positive note, he still felt close to Carlos. They were still golfing together, going out for dinner or just spending time with each other, wherever they just were at the time. You could get the idea that nothing really changed, besides that they were getting ready in different garages now, but it was only the positive side of things.

Something else has changed.

It made him so angry that he either wanted to punch something or to just start crying. Of course he had seen how close Charles and Carlos got over time. They often would hang out as the three of them or Pierre and Max would join. He never thought he had to worry about it. Carlos always made sure to make Lando feel included and promised that nothing would change between them.

But lately there have been a lot of rumors and Lando didn't want to believe them. He really didn't, but it was getting harder.

The latest rumors in the paddock were circling around the Ferrari drivers, speculating if they were a bit more than friends. More likely, people were assuming they were lovers or at least friends with benefits.

Lando didn't dare to ask Carlos. First, because he wouldn't want Carlos to feel forced to come out to him just because he was nosy and secondly, if that would be true, it would mean that Carlos was never straight, just not attracted to Lando at all and he didn't know if he really wanted that confirmation.

It would mean that there could've been something between them, but it just never happened because Carlos didn't like him like that at all. Instead, it seems like he is now happily fucking his handsome teammate Charles Leclerc at Ferrari.

Lando knew how ridiculously attractive Charles was, but since he had a huge crush on Carlos since forever, who was obviously not less gorgeous, he never really thought about Charles in that way. He had to admit in all bitterness, that they would look really good together, but that doesn't mean his heart wasn't aching.

He never thought much of the rumors that were going around, but today he finally saw it, how this one really became true. They were getting ridiculously obvious.

He knew Carlos love language was physical touch and the way he's been touching and looking at Charles today, really pushed Lando over the edge. Even he could see it from ten meters afar.
