Everlee
Jolly drove for 10 hours straight, only stopping a few times to use the bathroom or stocking up on caffeine.
Noah woke up a few times but just snuggled back into my hair every time and retightening his grip on me, as if reminding himself I'm back in the car.
I've dozed off a few times, probably being the most awake person in the car. I tried to make Jolly let me drive instead but he was firm on his No, saying Noah would kill him if he found out.
I didn't like that everyone was listening to whatever Noah said when it came to my wellbeing but I don't push the topic.
We're currently sitting at another gas station so Jolly and Folio can switch spots. Nick and I are playing a half assed game of eye spy when I feel Noah shift underneath me. I had situated our position a few minutes ago to where I'm practically sitting half on his lap while he sits up against the head rest so I could face Nick.
In the middle of trying to find Nick's "something red", Noah's hand reaches up to softly rub at the back of my neck. I lean back more into his touch more and let his hand cover it, they're rough and calloused due to his constant late nights picking away at his guitar.
I miss hearing that guitar.
I would do anything to spend my night laying back in my bed at home listening to him play a song in his room across the hallway. That seems like it was years ago when really it was probably only a week ago.
I turn my head to face him, "Did you sleep good?"
He definitely looks much better, the redness in his eyes is long gone and the dark circles around them have lightened up.
"So much better than I have been," he brings his other hand up to push the stray hairs that fell when I turned my head, behind my ear. I can't fight the smile that makes its way onto my lips or the small blush that creeps up my neck.
"Ew guys not in here, find my something red."
I laugh and shake my head at Nick and his interruption, but I'm slightly glad he did. Noah and I left everything in a really weird spot, I can't let myself get sucked back into believing something is there when we haven't talked about it.
The other two boys make their way back to the car with snacks and drinks. Noah announces he has to go to the bathroom before we leave but lightly pushes me back down when I try to follow him.
"No, you stay in here."
I know he doesn't mean to put an edge on it and that he's just worried. He most likely won't let his mind calm down until we're home.
"I guess you guys are going to go back to being all lovey dovey?"
I raise an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
Jolly had somehow remembered the pain in my wrist and snagged ace bandages inside, my arm lays in his lap while he wraps it right around my arm, having practiced when wrapping up Noah's hands during his jiujitsu classes.
"I mean, you're probably going to forget everything he did and just do whatever he wants right?"
"Folio. It's not the time for that."
I agree with Jolly. It's definitely not the time.
"No I'm serious. He's laying all over you like he's number one fucking guy and you're just letting him."
I can't tell whether it's jealousy or just plain aggravation at us but he has no reason to even worry about any of it.
"I can assure you I don't plan on doing anything. When we have the time to talk about all of it we will. I'm not talking about this with you right now."
