Classes were slow today. Especially in the dragging morning. Yet, towards the end of the school day, it goes by more quicker. Thursday, and everyone is excited about Friday and the weekend.
After school, I head over to the cafe to meet Kris. I was going to see Angel again for a play date! It should be fun. Playing the role as a mother is quite interesting, but with Kris being the father, I cringe thinking of it."Heyyyyy!" Chen waves from behind the counter as I entered the cafe. The smell of new baked pastries waft through the air.
"Hey Chen." I smile. I peer through the glass display. "Ooo chocolate chip cookies! I'll take two... The small cheesecake.. And.. The Hello Kitty cupcake to go!"
"On it!" Chen reaches into the glass.
"Thank you."
He nods. "My pleasure Hillary!"
I smile as I take the two chocolate chip cookies in the paper bag, the cheesecake and the cupcake in the box. I hope Angel likes the Hello Kitty cupcake I got her! The cheesecake just for because. Paying for the baked goods, I see Kris coming out from the back kitchen.
"You're going to get fatter than you are now if you keep coming here to eat all the food." Kris scoffs.
I roll my eyes, biting the cookie right in front of his face. "Well I like being fat. Or I would like to say, fluffy."
"Ha." he chuckles.
"Well, bye Chen!" I wave.
"Bye bye, don't listen to Kris, come again anytime you'd like Hillary!" Chen waves back while he was wiping the counters.
I head out of the cafe with Kris.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"My house." he says.
I choke on the cookie. "Just you and me?"
Kris rolls his eyes. "I won't do anything to you, like I would even want to. Besides, my grandmother and Angel will be there with us."
"Okay." I continue to nibble on the cookie.
"You eat so slow." he said.
"Problem?" I raised an eyebrow.
"No." we continue walking. "Don't worry, my house isn't that far, so while we walk, at least you get some excersise to burn those extra calories."
I stick my tongue out. "Stop being rude to me." I take out the other cookie. I notice Kris staring at it. "You want it?"
He shakes his head. "I'll take half."
"Well, I'm not giving you any."
"Okay, stay happy, fat, yourself."
I hiss, shoving the cookie up his mouth. "Something to shut up your big mouth for once. Stop insulting me."
"Sorry." Kris apologized, struggling to eat the cookie.
I giggle, noticing he stained his mouth. Reaching for a napkin, I wipe the stain off. Kris stares at me. "You had a stain on the side of your mouth." I hand him the napkin.
"Thank you. And hey, thanks for doing this.. Y-you know, I mean for Angel."
"You're welcome.. Hey, I know she's at the young age, but you're going to have to tell her sooner or later. How will you break the news?" I ask.
Kris sighed. "No clue, when the time comes, I'll find a way."
I nod. We stop in front of an average two story house. "I think my grandmother and Angel are outside. Follow me."
