The past few days have been like heaven. Too bad I was going to hell.
As soon as I sat down Stacy threw things at me.
"Hey witch girl"
"What do you want?"
"You really think he likes you? He is just using you."
"What would he be using me for?" I asked. She went silent trying to think of anything.
"To have a little fun" she stumbled out, only half believing it herself.
"Like Dustin does to you?"
"I- you- UGH" she huffed. Needless to say, she didn't leave me alone after that. Throwing, tripping, laughing at me. It felt like this torture was endless.
I sat down for lunch in my usual spot. I watched Ellis look at a tiny box in his hands before going into the bathroom. He left a bit after and walked over to me. His stupid eyes shining.
"Hi!" He sat down placing his head on my shoulder.
"Hey I have a question"
"Hm?"
"You wanna go to the dance?" I asked. He practically shot up and stared at me.
"Of course!" He had the biggest smile. I laughed. For that moment, for that short span of time I had forgotten how cruel the word can be. Stacy helped me remember, however. She walked over to us.
"Witch girl, new boy."
"What do you want?" I rolled my eyes at her. Always a bother.
"He has a reputation yaknow"
"You must be mistaken." He responded.
"Fights almost every day, you had your brother fight them, didn't you? But that isn't why you moved here no no, you moved here because of your mommy. Didn't you? They hid you away from the world."
"Back off Stacy. You have no clue what you are talking about."
"Your poor poor mom. She went crazy and they had to lock her up." She grinned. Ellis stood up. Grabbed her shoulder and whispered something. Stacy ran off.
"You have a brother? What did you tell her? How does she know all that?" I had a million more questions to ask.
"I don't, I told her to back off or else, and somehow that worked, and I have no clue she must have researched the wrong person" he grabbed his wrist slightly pushing his jacket around it. A nervous habit he had. Something was off. Something wasn't the truth. He at least got Stacy to leave me alone for the rest of the day. When the day finally ended I got onto my bus. I was glad the day was over.
"Kijo" Sila called as soon as I entered.
"Hm?" I put my bag down. She started yelling at me. We argued and I stormed to my room slamming the door. She opened it and yelled more. I walked to Ellis house after she stopped. It wasn't too far.
