Beaten and bruised

A knock at the door. I practically ran to it.
"Hm? Kijo?!" I stared.
"Hi!"
"What are you doing here?" I stepped outside and closed the door.
"I was uh wondering, wanna smoke?"
"Sure" I chuckled. I didn't know she smoked. We walked to an area in the woods. We sat on a log.
"I had no idea you smoked"
"I got bored one day and well- you get it"
"How did you know I do?"
"Before you come eat with you sometimes you go either to the bathroom or outside for a smoke, I seen you a few times"
"It helps with my nerves"
"Yeah?"
"Mhm, a distraction from the hard day" she was staring at me.
"I'm just surprised you have the balls to at school"
"Heh, I am just too good to get caught"
"Clearly"
"You doubt how awesome I am?" I looked at her.
"Oh never"
"Good" I kissed her.
"You are such an idiot" she blew smoke into my face.
"Yet you love me"
"I do" she smiled. We kissed some more and smoked before I went back home.
The closer I got the weirder I felt. I opened the door and there he was. Sitting on the couch, beer in hand the remote in the other.
"Have you been smoking?"
"No, I-"
"Bullshit. Just look at you."
"I'm sorry." I walked to my room.
"I'm talking to you." He said. I turned around. He placed his beer down and walked to me.
"You got lipstick on you."
"Okay."
"Cut the attitude Nick."
"I don't have an attitude." I turned back around. He grabbed my arm.
"Let go of me!"
"You are in MY house Nikolai. You will follow my rules. You will not speak like that to me either."
"I'm only here because of mom."
"Don't you mention her right now."
"Why? Because you don't even care about her? You don't even love her."
"I do love her."
"Then why did you cheat on her?! Does she even know about that?!"
"Nikolai I brought you into this world I can take you right back out."
"Then do it." I stared at him.
He definitely tried his best that night. He punched me. Once I fell to the ground he kicked me. I just curled into a ball. The thought of seeing Kijo tomorrow made it better. Once he finally stopped I kept my head down as I went to my room. I cleaned up the blood. He made a nice scratch across my nose bridge that's for sure.
