Chapter Nine Pt.2

3rd POV

Y/n's breath hitched, Damon had leaned forward and put his face just inches from hers, feeling his hot breath and seeing his eyes flicker in the subtle triangle from her eyes to her lips. She thought this would be their first kiss all over again, and just as she was about to close the gap- he grabbed the car door handle and opened it, moving back and opening his to get out of the vehicle. She had to admit that did sting a little.

As her feet connected with the floor, she took this opportunity to look around. Her heart pounded in her chest as she came to realise where they were, the old manor or what was left of the manor. Tears sparked in her eyes as she grazed her hand on the stone that she hadn't seen in over one hundred years.

"Well, I know that Stefan is not in my head because I just got a splinter and it hurt," Damon laughed from the distance he had made. Y/n chuckled under her breath- a vampire crying about a splinter was just too ironic.

"Want me to come over there and kiss it better for you?" She said in a sarcastic tone, feeling as if they weren't at that point in their relationship yet- given that way back when he was ready to wed her but she won't hold that against him yet.

She could feel his eyes burning into the back of her head, her every move and step was accounted for as she heard him scoff at her remark.

"I see you've grown some confidence, it feels weird hearing you talk now. I remember we were so young and now we're... still young," His voice rang in the cool autumn air, she thought he sounded more rugged, charming. She was feeling strange talking to him now compared to the last time they spoke, without Katherine's interference. She knew that she could just compel her, she tried and it didn't work, that was when she ended up waking up in a shallow grave. To this day Katherine believes that she made Y/n a vampire, Y/n just let it happen as she thought it was a cosmic joke on Katherine.

"Do you believe it's me?" I asked, my eyes meeting his now. I was desperate.

"I... don't know, I lost so much trust through these years Y/n, I think I know it's you but I'm so scared if I take another step that you will disappear." His voice was quite at the end.

"Scared? That sounds like an emotion to me," I said, feeling overwhelmed by all of this.

"I switched it back on the moment you're eyes opened in the car, it was just like when we were in my old room and you would realise you had stayed the night... scared that Giuseppe would catch you, and you would always relax when you saw me." His head was tilted up, looking above into the trees, maybe trying to hide some tears but he would never admit that, maybe to one person.

He started walking closer to her, she didn't move, she didn't dare to. It was as if she moved she would break. He was finally stood in front of her, he pulled her hand into his, feeling the traces of her fingers and palm- memories flooding the both of them, lighting the path of where they should be. Damon brought his other hand to her cheek and she smiled thinking of how this could go once again.

It was as if Damon read her mind as he started laughing, he put both hands to her face- and instead of doing the expected of him, he traced her face with his thumbs, bring his hands down to her shoulders, to her collarbones, her arms and finally on her waist.

"This is how I would hold you, and your cheeks would go that perfect shade of red that they've gone now." He whispered, bring her closer and closer by each second that passed until finally their lips collided. It was like every cheesy movie he'd seen, it was like the universe had clashed together to make this happen, to put them both in that moment at that time.

(Gets a lil bit spicy here)

As he deepened the kiss, he pulled her closer as much as physics would allow him to, she could feel him holding back as if she was like an antique, technically she was but she knew what she could handle, and so could he.

Reassuring him that she would not disappear, she did a little jump and wrapped her legs around his waist all while he walked over to the stone that she was looking at before and held her against it as he unbuttoned the first few buttons of her top, bringing his lips to her neck and collarbone, feathering kisses all along and leaving traces of himself.

She brought his face up and began kissing him again, biting his lower lip to deepen it with the passion she felt in that moment. She could feel it against her in that moment and as much as she wanted to she knew she couldn't, not yet. She shook her head indicating it to him to which he understood and let her legs move down to the ground, he didn't move away though, he stayed in the same spot for a while before he spoke.

(end of spicy)

"I still can't trust my own mind." He said breathlessly into her skin.

She put his face in her hands, looking into the most beautiful ocean eyes she thought she wouldn't see again. "I can tell you everything, I will tell you my whole life if you allow me to, there are some things you don't know and I am sorry I never told you when we were younger, I could have stopped so much from happening, we could have had our forever and more." She replied, feeling his eyes widen in wonder, his hair messy framing his face perfectly making her need him more.
