"We should walk; I don't think Leanna is ready for heights," Dylan says.
"I'm not afraid of heights; I've ridden the tallest roller coaster in the city," Leanna says.
Dylan and Carmie look at each other and laugh.
"What's so funny?"
"That's nothing compared to what Carmie can do," Dylan says.
"Whatever it is, I can handle it. Now, do whatever you would do if it were just the two of you."
"Okay, just try not to yell," Carmie says, grabbing both of them.
"Oh please," Leanna says before Carmie starts to fly.
Realizing that Leanna is about to scream, Dylan puts his hand over Leanna's mouth.
Carmie lands on the football field.
"I'm going to remove my hand, but you can't yell, okay?" Dylan asks.
Leanna nods, and Dylan puts his hand to his side.
"So what, Carmie is like a superhero?"
"No, actually, I'm a Vampling," Carmie says.
"A what?"
"Half vampire, half human," Dylan explains.
"Wait, so those books Kev reads about Mythics aren't fake?"
"No, Mythics are real. Werewolves, Goblins, Vampires, Fairies—all of them are real; Carmie is what Mythics call Blended, half Human, half Mythic," Kev joins them.
"Wait, if you're a vampire, shouldn't you be burning or something?" Leanna asks.
"Actually, since I'm only half vampire, I can stay in the light," Carmie says.
"What else can you do?" Leanna asks, taking her phone out.
"No recording," Dylan says, taking the phone away.
"Why? My viewers would love this."
"There are humans who hunt Mythics, especially Blendeds; they are very rare," Dylan says.
"And you would know this how?"
"I just realized that you never asked my last name," Dylan says.
"Why would I? It's not like you are my friend."
Kev clears his throat.
"Okay, Dylan, what's your last name?"
"Helsing," Dylan replies.
"Helsing, like a monster hunter?"
"Exactly, Van Helsing was my great-great-great grandfather."
"So, if you come from a family of hunters, why haven't you captured Carmie?"
"Because I'm not a hunter anymore, Carmie helped me realize that not all Mythics are bad," Dylan says.
"But just because Dylan's family is the most well-known Mythic hunters doesn't mean they are the only ones."
"That is why you can't talk about, video, or even post about Carmie's powers," Kev says.
"Why not? I could totally make her popular," Leanna states.
"I don't care about popularity," Carmie says.
"Why?"
"Because when you're popular, you never know who your true friends are," Kev says.
"I also don't want to be fooled again."
"Again?"
"There are some Mythics that want to end Humans, like Tristan did when he captured you guys," Carmie says.
"Okay, I get it; I will ask before I post any videos with you in them."
"Thank you," Carmie says.
"Now, please show me what else you can do," Leanna begs.
"Well, look at that; she can be polite," Dylan jokes.
"Time me," Carmie says before running over to the track.
