Tomas, Carmie, and Dylan leave the classroom and walk down the hall.
"My next class is History; what about you guys?" Tomas asks.
"English," Carmie reads her schedule.
"I have Gym," Dylan says.
"No chucks," Carmie says, turning and stopping Dylan.
"My chucks are in my locker. No worries, Carm," Dylan says, turning the corner.
"What did you mean by chucks?"
"Dylan used to be a hunter, possibly the best hunter in the biz," Carmie says.
"Wait, Dylan's last name is Helsing?"
"Yes, but don't worry, as long as you're not bad, he's good with you."
"This is me," Tomas stops.
"See ya later," Carmie says, heading to her class.
"Carmie," Leanna calls out.
"Hey, Leanna, nice to know we have the same class," Carmie says.
"Kev wanted me to give this to you; I have no clue why," Leanna gives Carmie a Mythic comic book.
Carmie looks at the cover and starts to wobble.
"Carmie, are you okay?" Leanna asks, stabilizing her friend.
"I think so," Carmie says as Leanna helps her to a seat.
"Carmie, what's going on?"
"If anything happens to me, text Dylan, and if I get out of control, tell him to get his tools," Carmie says.
"What do you mean out of control, and what tools?"
"We have a second before class starts," Carmie says, looking at the clock.
"Okay, you have to keep me up to speed, even if I can't tell my Lifers," Leanna says when they are in the hallway.
"The comic that Kev gave you is the Warrior Fairy issue. Cute Boy was a blend between Human and Warrior Fairy; he almost killed me. Let's say I have a grudge against them. If my fangs come out at all, tell me, but if I start going crazy like at Fan-Con, text Dylan. He used to hunt Mythics," Carmie says.
"Wait, but won't he hurt you?"
"No," Carmie says.
"Okay, if your fangs show, I will say something about your smile," Leanna says.
"Perfect."
The minute bell rings.
"We better get inside, and no Mythic talk," Carmie says before they walk in.
