Leanna walks down the hall and passes Jasmine.
"Hey Leanna," Jasmine says.
"Hi," Leanna says, distracted.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just looking for Carmie, she is acting really weird and Dylan is worried it might be because of the new boy in our English class," Leanna says.
"Here, let me help," Jasmine cups her ears.
Leanna watches as Jasmine listens for Carmie.
"She's at the track field," Jasmine says.
"Do you have lunch this period?"
"Yes."
"Will you come with me? Dylan thinks that the boy Carmie is with is a Blended and I have no clue what to look for."
"Sure, all Blendeds have a tell, so I can definitely help," Jasmine agrees.
"Thanks," Leanna says.
"So, what kind of Blended does Dylan think he is?" Jasmine asks as they walk to the front.
"A Siren."
"Good thing I'm a Banshian," Jasmine says.
"A what?"
"A Banshee, our powers drown out a Siren's powers," Jasmine says.
"I just hope we can save her if Dylan is correct, she said she didn't want a boyfriend but sometimes things don't happen the way we plan," Leanna says.
"Yeah, and truthfully if she did get a boyfriend I feel it should be Dylan."
"I never thought about it, but you're right," Leanna agrees as they walk out to the track field.
"There they are," Jasmine says.
"We should be close enough to be able to hear, but far enough that it doesn't look like we are stalking," Leanna says.
"Um, Banshian, I have good hearing, remember?"
"Right, still new to the Mythic world," Leanna says.
They sit on the bleachers.
"Why is Carmie using her powers?" Leanna asks as they watch Carmie running.
"Maybe this boy has a tell," Jasmine says.
"Tell?"
"Some Mythics, like me, Ye-Lena, and Tomas are able to tell who is a Blended," Jasmine says.
"I know I shouldn't video Carmie but Dylan needs to know," Leanna says.
"Why can't you video Carmie?"
"They told me that if I video Blendeds and post it on social media Hunters might come find you guys, and even though Carmie and I are frienemies I don't want anything bad to happen to her," Leanna says.
"Well, technically it's not posting it if you only send it to Dylan," Jasmine says.
"Maybe you should video it, if I send it to him he might get the wrong idea and yell at me," Leanna says.
"Good idea," Jasmine takes out her phone.
