The four of them walk into the school.

"So, what do you think this year will bring?" Kev asks.

"For you or all of us?" Carmie asks.

"All of us."

"All I know is that I don't want a boyfriend," Carmie responds.

The statement saddens Dylan, but he doesn't show it.

"Hey Carmie," a voice comes from down the hall.

"Hey, Jasmine, Tomas, Ye-Lena, what are you doing here?"

"We told our Mythic parents about what happened at Fan-Con and they all agreed that we should all be in the same school as you," Jasmine explains.

"So glad I have more of my people here," Carmie says.

"Hey!" Leanna says.

"She didn't mean that we aren't her friends," Kev says.

"Of course not; what I mean is having other Blendeds, other than Madison, who is in another city," Carmie explains.

"Wait, there are other types of Blendeds?"

"Yes and it's the same rules with them as with Carmie," Dylan says.

The bell rings.

"Time for class," Kev groans.

"Good luck with the fans," Carmie says.

"See ya," Kev says leaving.

"What do you guys have first period?" Leanna asks.

"I have gym; I hope there's swimming; water is my jam," Ye-Lena says.

"I have choir," Jasmine says.

"Oh, me too," Leanna says.

"Just remember not to use your powers," Carmie says.

"Don't worry, I have the ability to control my voice," Jasmine smiles.

"Later, guys," Leanna says as they leave.

"And I have science," Dylan says.

"Me too," Tomas says.

"That makes three of us," Carmie says.

"So, do you know what you will do when the time comes?" Tomas asks.

"I don't think I have a choice," Carmie says.

"Sure, you have a choice. The skin said, 'A Vampling called Carmela will bring Humans and Mythics together in peace,'" Dylan says, taking the skin out of his bag.

"What?" Carmie asks, taking the skin.

"Maybe we should talk about this later," Tomas says.

"Right, we are here anyway," Carmie says, giving the skin back to Dylan.

"Carmie!" A female voice comes from behind.

"Hey Sophie," Carmie gives her a hug.

"Who's your new friend?" Sophie asks with a smile.

"Oh, this is Tomas, Tomas, this is Sophie," Carmie introduces her friends to each other.

"Okay, everyone, sit down and settle down," the teacher says.

"You can sit by me, Tomas," Sophie says, pulling the Spectra.

Everyone takes their seats, and Carmie is trying to pay attention, but the last thing Tristan said keeps coming to her mind.

"I will live to sixteen and defeat you," Carmie whispers.

"Did you say something, Ms. Henley?" the science teacher asks.

"No, sorry Mr. Nickels."

The bell rings.

"Class dismissed," Mr. Nickels says.
