When he hit the ground, he only felt the pain for a second.

Then he felt nothing.

Then he felt something.

He heard something. Laughing. A familiar laugh. Wait… was that--

“HA! Foolish stink-human!” Zim shouted.

Dib opened his eyes to see Zim standing over him. “I have stopped you once again!” Dib sat up abruptly, causing Zim to fall. “Ow!” He exclaimed.

Dib looked around. He was in Zim’s living room. It looked just like it had back in elementary skool. The same purple couch. Same creepy monkey poster.

Dib turned to Zim, who was getting back on his feet. Just like the house, he looked like he did back then. Zim shook his head and grinned.

His face melted Dib’s heart. He felt tears start to form in his eyes as he looked down at himself. His old body.

It was all a dream.

He couldn’t help but laugh as the tears fell down his face. Zim looked at him with a confused expression. “Wow. I guess you hit your head harder than I though--”

Dib pulled the green boy into a kiss. Of course he recoiled immediately. “What-- What was that!?” Zim shouted. His face was bright blue. Dib laughed harder. What did he expect? “Do-- Don’t laugh at the great ZIM!!” Zim’s face grew bluer as he watched Dib continue to laugh.

After Dib began to calm down he grinned. “What? Can’t handle a little kiss?”

Zim folded his arms over his chest.

Dib pulled him closer again, this time into a hug.

“Can you promise me something?” Dib asked.

Zim squirmed, trying to free himself from the hug. “Zim promises nothing.”

“Don’t let me ever give up on the supernatural.”

“...Ok.” Zim said, hugging Dib back.

Dib laughed.

“I love you, Zim.”

“What?”

“Nothing.”
