Chapter 9

~COCO P.O.V

I kept running.

I didn't know if the Sentinels were chasing after me or not, I just need to get out of there.

I soon found a cave and hid in there.

I waited for about half an hour before I heard what sound like a helicopter, lots of them, I walked up and saw them carrying parts of a building.

"What are they doing?" I asked myself before loads of foodimals run past, I walked away and saw some foodimals getting captured by Sentinels, "What are they doing?" I whispered to myself.

I then noticed a Kiwi, Leek, Lemon, and Blueberry hiding under a bush, "Hey," I whispered and they looked over at me, "Come here. I'll get you out of here," I told them and had my hand out to them.

They then ran over to me, I put the Kiwi and Leek in my messenger bag and had the Lemon and Blueberry in my arms, "Let's go," I told them before I ran off.

After a few minutes of running, and making sure the foodimals were still there, I saw a fire and a boat up ahead, I looked to my left and saw some rocks I could down.

I looked at the Blueberry and Lemon, "I'm gonna jump down there. It should keep us hidden for now, but I'm gonna need you to sit on my shoulders and hang on," I told them and they nodded.

"N-woo," the Blueberry said, I put them on my shoulders and got over, "Okay you four. Hang on," I told them before I jumped, I got to the other side and we walked over, we saw a man and a lot of pickles.

"Excuse me?" I asked him as I walked over, the pickles and the man looked over at me, "Do you have any idea what's going on?" I asked him but he shook his head.

"No. I brought my son, Twilight, and his friends here but they told me to stay on the boat," he told me and my eyes widened, "Wait. Your Flint's dad!" I said and his eyes widened.

"Flint? Do you know where he is?" he asked, I was about to reply when we heard something behind us, someone who was cover in marshmallows.

I put the Blueberry and Lemon down as the Leek and Kiwi jumped out of my messenger bag and they hugged my legs, the marshmallows came off and we saw it was Flint.

"Flint!" Mr. Lockwood and I said in unison, he slowly got up and looked up at us, "Dad... Coco," he muttered as he looked up at us, "What's happening, son?" Mr. Lockwood asked him as we walked over.

"Flint, no offense but you look terrible," I told him as the pickles helped him sit up, I ruffed his hair back to normal and he nodded as thanks.

"What's with all of them?" Mr. Lockwood asked, pointing to the marshmallows, "They saved my life," he said as he picked two of them up.

They smiled at them before he set them down, "I let Chester steal the machine and Tom, Twi's Ex steal Twilight and now they're starting Operation Slice and Dice," he muttered as he looked down to the ground.

"Come on, son. You're really not making any sense," Mr. Lockwood said as he picked him up and set him back on his feet, "Look, Chester's gonna wipe out all the foodimals, and Tom's gonna mind-control Twi and make her in love with him again," Flint told us.

I gasped before I cover my mouth in shock.

Tom... He said he cared for Twilight but mind-control...

Mr. Lockwood then looked down at the pickles as they hugged his legs, I then picked up the Kiwi, Lemon, Leek, and Blueberry as they started shaking in fear and I tried to calm them down.

"My friends tried to tell me they were good, and Sam said that Tom was gonna do something bad to Twi, but I didn't listen. Everything I touch just gets ruined," Flint muttered sadly before he looked off to the side.
