"Ugh, god yes! I almost forgot to tell! *chuckles*"

"I'm quite nervous because I'm starting there tomorrow. I already got my certification as well as other side rewards," I replied.

"I'm also happy about my room—not so low and not so high! I got room D!" I exclaimed.

"You got D?!" Aaliyah shouted.

Luer's POV

"I know, right?!" I said. I thought she was happy, too.

"What? Wait—no! I mean..." she stutters. To be honest, I didn't expect that reaction, and yeah, it kind of made me feel uneasy.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, uh, I just don't think that, uh, you know?" she explained. As if I understood what she meant.

I clenched my fist, and my eyebrows frowned. At this point, I think there is nobody on my side.

"What? You think I'm not capable of making it? Liyah, what's the matter being in room D?" I questioned.

"What?! No! No! Definitely not! You do know I'm really, really proud that you made it. It's just that I know room D is not good for you. Maybe we can ask the staff to change your room?" she suggested. Her explanation made quitea bit of sense, though.

"Really? Sure, but why? Well, then tell me your room, so I'll just suggest they put me there? I'll be with you; you'd be with me! Sounds good!" I replied.

"Oh— oh well, my room is D but--"

"Room D? Then what's the problem? Were we going to be together in that room? Don't you like that?" I asked confusedly.

"I told you, didn't I? I know that you are not going to like room D because I've been with these people, and I know what type of people they are! They're no good for you!" Her reply honestly made me sad, but I understand her, of course.

"So please, I'm just protecting you, Luer." she added.

I'm already feeling down, so I'm not sure what the right reply is right now. I do feel sad that she thinks I can't get along with people. I know I might be different, but I really hope that's the last thing we're considering here. I have two choices. One is asking the staff to change my room and do what Liyah suggested. And then number two, just follow my original room...

or maybe,

"I understand. Thank you for looking after me, Aaliyah. I'll go right away to school tonight; you're the best. Good night now." I said and turned the call off. I went to school and talked to the staff.

3rd Person's POV

Luer might be a positive person, but right now, all she could think about was lying. She didn't want to upset Aaliyah, but at the same time, she wanted to prove her wrong. Sure, she went to the university—but only to use their restroom and grab coffee from a shop nearby. Quite the journey, considering her home was so far away.

Before leaving the school grounds, she decided to buy a bracelet for Aaliyah. Just in case her friend found out the truth. Despite everything, Luer still cared about her and didn't want her to be angry.

On her way home, she bumped into a homeless-looking guy. He's biting a cigarette, and his left hand is holding a bottle of some sort of alcohol. Not to mention his clothes, which are barely clean and have visible holes.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you." Luer apologizes while bowing.

The guy didn't say anything and he looks like he's drunk; he didn't even bother to look at her and just went the other way where Luer is from.
