In a city where the sun kisses the desert and the skyline pierces the heavens, Lando Norris found himself amidst the glamorous chaos of Dubai. His winter break from the Formula One circuit was a welcome respite from the high-speed races and relentless media scrutiny. It hadn't been the easiest of years for him career wise or personally, with a near win miss at Sochi and his break up with Louisa over the summer, he was looking forward to relax. Instead of the familiar roar of engines, he now found solace in the quiet hum of the city, punctuated by the occasional revving of a luxury sports car.
Any chance he could get Lando would reach over for his phone to message Fleur. He was busy with one activity or the other each day. Him and his friends were working on a few projects for his company Quadrant, with things to do in Dubai. After a long day of dune bashing and filming Lando was sprawled on the couch of him and his friend's hotel suite, phone in hand and texting away.
Fleur: How have you gone so long without messaging me? I'm a delight 💁🏻♀️
Lando: Why? Miss me? 😋 Getting some rest after a long day on the quad bike, was doing a bit of filming with friends
Fleur: ooh fun, I'm sure you've got sand in all sorts of (not) fun places
Lando: I've showered thank you very much
Fleur: 🤨
Lando: Ok yes I've still got sand everywhere
Fleur: 😏 knew it
Lando gave a small chuckle at her reply.
"You've been smiling a lot at the phone lately. Who is she?" teased Pietra, trying to look over his shoulder.
"None of your business," he said , hiding his phone from her.
"Are you four? Oh wait I forgot you actually are" she joked back.
"No , he just can't tell you because he doesn't know it himself" cut in Max as he pulled in the trolley with their room service.
"What do you mean?" asked Pietra, Max's girlfriend, laughing.
"I know her name...kind of" said Lando rolling his eyes at Max. "It's Fleur,"
"Ooh that's a pretty name, she's definitely pretty," Pietra said in a low voice to Max.
"Yes, well, don't start planning our wedding just yet," Lando said, feigning exasperation.
"Why not? I love weddings," Pietra teased. "Tell us more. How did you two meet?"
Lando just rolled his eyes and continued "I met her at a Party and we're kind of in a getting to know each other phase without completely giving away who we are."
"How have you managed to get yourself in that situation?" she asked.
"We just never got the chance to exchange details before you know... and then once we got to messaging it just felt so freeing not to really know each other" replied Lando.
"Aww look at our little Lando, finding his true love in a stranger" said Max.
"That's actually pretty cool," Pietra admitted. "So, what do you two talk about?"
"Everything and nothing. We talk about our days, our interests, random stuff. It's nice," Lando said, leaning back.
"You should take her dune bashing. That will either make or break it," Max suggested, winking.
"Yeah, because nothing says romance like getting sand in your eyes and ears," Lando replied, with a disgusted face.
"Hey, if she can handle dune bashing, she can handle anything," Pietra said. "So, have you two talked about meeting up again?"
