Author's note: Just wanted to point out due to some future chapters and amends I made to the second chapter I have changed this story to be mature content. Just making you guys aware as I didn't have that before, and it's changed now :)
The morning sun streamed brightly through the vast glass windows of the McLaren Technology Centre, casting long shadows across the gleaming floor. The air hummed with the soft whirr of cameras and the muffled footsteps of the crew preparing for the day's shoot. Florence, clipboard in hand, directed the setup with a practiced ease, her eyes occasionally catching the brilliant gleam of the meticulously polished race cars on display.
"Alright, let's get the hero shot with the car, and then we can move on to the fun stuff," Florence directed, her voice clear and authoritative yet warm. Lando and Daniel were already suited up, leaning casually against the sleek chassis of the latest McLaren model, their camaraderie palpable even from a distance.
As Florence approached, Lando shot her a grin that was both mischievous and disarming. "Morning, Fleur. Saved any coffee for the rest of us, or have you single-handedly boosted the caffeine stocks again?"
Florence laughed, handing him a spare cup she had grabbed on her way in. "For you? I might just have spared a drop or two."
Daniel chuckled, taking his coffee with a nod of thanks. "You know you're spoiling him, right? What about the poor Australian, huh? Don't I get any special treatment?"
"Only if you can out-charm him," Florence quipped, her gaze flitting between the two as she checked her watch. "And speaking of charm, let's see some in front of the camera, boys."
Just then, Florence's friends Isabel, her fiancé Jack, and Daisy walked in, their eyes wide with awe as they took in the high-tech surroundings.
"Wow, this place is incredible!" Jack exclaimed, his gaze darting from the sleek cars to the sophisticated equipment.
"Absolutely stunning," Isabel agreed, her voice filled with admiration.
Daisy, meanwhile, seemed a bit starstruck as she caught sight of Daniel. She hovered nervously, clearly excited but at a loss for words.
Florence approached her friends, a warm smile on her face. "Hey guys, so glad you could make it. Let me introduce you to everyone. You guys know Lando and Daniel of course, two of the best drivers you'll ever meet."
Lando extended a hand, his charm on full display. "Nice to meet you all. Any friends of Fleur is friends of mine."
Isabel turned to Florence with a raised eyebrow when Lando said Fleur, getting a 'not now' look in return from her.
Daniel followed suit, shaking hands and giving each of them his trademark grin. "Hope you're ready for a behind-the-scenes look at what we do. And maybe a bit of fun, too."
Florence then did a quick introduction to the rest of the room which had some filming crew and marketing team members.
The filming began in earnest, with both drivers showcasing the new car, discussing its features and design. Lando's explanations were sprinkled with jokes, keeping the mood light, while Daniel's anecdotes about past races brought a touch of nostalgia and excitement. Florence's friends watched with keen interest, occasionally exchanging impressed glances.
Between takes, Lando lingered by Florence's side, their shoulders almost brushing. "So, any big plans for the weekend?" he asked in a tone that hinted at casual curiosity but carried an undercurrent of genuine interest.
Florence made some notes in her notebook, her heart skipping a beat at the closeness. "Oh, you know, the usual. Maybe catch up on some sleep, or go see the new art exhibit at the Tate."
