"Asher wake up! We got class in a few minutes." the voice cut through my sleep as I woke up groggily. Sigh. I just want a day where I can sleep properly. If they told me that I would be fighting monsters every other night maybe I would have chosen to stay at camp. "Asher! I'm gonna rip your blankets away." the voice called again.
"I got it, I got it, Grover. Geez can't a guy get some rest around here." I grumbled as I sat up from my bed. I stood up in my dorm room. There were two bunk beds with desks against the wall. Baseball posters and skateboarders doing tricks were plastered around the wall. It was a typical boy's room. A kid with jet black hair and sea green eyes came out of the bathroom.
"Sup sleeping beauty. Took you long enough." the kid waved to me as he got changed.
"Shut up blue boy. I had a late night. God sometimes Grover be more of a mom than yours." I punched Percy's shoulder as I walked into the bathroom. I heard him chuckle.
I looked into the mirror and saw that there was a bruise under my eye. Damn. I need to hide this or Percy is gonna start asking questions again. I remember the last time he saw a large gash on the front of my chest. The ambrosia was still healing the cut but since I didn't feel any pain I let my guard down when I took off my shirt. A curious cyclops was roaming near the school and I knew it smelled something. Left me a parting gift in the form of a sword across my chest before I could vaporize it. After a few stutters from Grover and my definitely-probably believable lies, we got Percy to stop asking questions.
I took a tub of concealer that was given to me by Annabeth and dabbed it on my bruise. She said she got it from Silena Beauregard, the counselor for the Aphrodite cabin. Great for hiding any cuts and bruises so you don't get questioned. Another favor I guess I owe Annabeth now.
Before I left camp, I told Annabeth that I was leaving to help Grover with a half blood. She went crazy on me saying things like 'that's not fair' and 'when do I get to go on a quest'. I knew she really wanted to go on a quest but after the whole fiasco with Luke and his quest, it wasn't happening any time soon. I tried to tell her that this was a mission, not a quest. Quests have prophecies attached to them. She told me that I was just playing with semantics. Like I knew what that even means.
I still kept in touch with her. We would Iris message to talk about more capture the flag strategies while she would go on and on about architecture. I had to pinch my arm a few times to not fall asleep during those lectures. I still haven't told her about who my mom is. No one knows yet except for Grover and Chiron. Chiron told me that he would do something about the cabin issue before I returned, seeing as how I was claimed but there was no cabin for Hestia. Hestia was still an Olympian. but just like Hades, they do not have cabins at camp.
Knock knock. Someone knocked on my door. "Did you fall asleep in there or something? We gotta hurry." Percy said through the bathroom door.
"Calm down, I'm coming out now." I yelled back. I walked out and grabbed my things as Percy, Grover, and I ran out of the dorms.
"I can't believe you took your sweet time right before our field trip." Grover chided me. I rolled my eyes. Lightning stormed in the distance catching my attention. Grover and I looked at the storm's clouds apprehensively. It was getting worse. Annabeth told me something went wrong during the winter solstice. Someone stole something from Zeus and it looked like he was getting angrier every day.
===========
We were all the way into the city. Chiron was leading the trip in a museum full of Greek mythology. Oh yea I forgot to mention, Chiron was here too after Grover and I reported that he may need to help us. The amount of monsters that were appearing was way too many then normal. Chiron, or I guess I should say Mr. Brunner for now, stopped in front of some Greek funeral art and was giving his lecture on it.
