(A/N: Longer chapter cause I think I'm dragging.)
The distant sound of kids yelling drifted into my open window. I open my eyes to see the sun shining into my eyes. I let out a long yawn before struggling up to my legs. I still felt groggy, the dream I had didn't help either. Just like last time, it was getting too hard to recall what happened.
There was an image of a white marble floor and the taste of metal I remember. But everything else slipped through my mind like sand.
I let out another yawn before walking outside. It was still afternoon huh. Only a couple hours of sleep, but it will do. Guess I'll go find Percy, see how he's doing.
I walk aimlessly around looking for Percy. Where could he be?
After a couple of minutes of walking I found myself next to the cabins. What the... Annabeth and Percy were walking towards me. Except, Annabeth was soaked from head to toe while Percy was profusely apologizing. I walked up to them and caught a whiff of sewage.
"Annabeth, toilets are for pissing in, not washing in." I snickered.
She just gave me a sharp glare as I continued laughing.
"So what happened?" I asked. Percy explained that he may or may not have caused a water explosion at the toilets to get out of Clarisse's grasp. Annabeth was just an unfortunate casualty.
Annabeth continued her tour showing Percy around the camp as I trailed behind. She showed off the metal shop, the climbing wall, and the arts and crafts room. We returned back to the cabins afterwards.
"I've got training to do," Annabeth said flatly. "Dinner's at seven thirty. Just follow your cabin to the mess hall."
"Annabeth, I'm really sorry about the toilets." Percy tried to apologize again.
"Whatever."
"It wasn't my fault."
She gave that look that said 'yes, it was'.
"You need to talk to the Oracle," Annabeth said. I frowned. I know what Annabeth is alluding to. But I don't want it to actually be Percy. He's already escaped danger twice, who's to say that he can again.
"Who?" Percy asked.
"Not who. What. The Oracle. I'll ask Chiron."
Percy stared out towards the lake. A couple of naiads broke the water and waved towards him. I watched as he waved back to them.
"Don't encourage them," I said, "Naiads are terrible flirts."
Annabeth gave me a look almost asking how I knew that. I just shrugged.
"Naiads," Percy repeated. "That's it. I want to go home now."
Annabeth frowned. "Don't you get it, Percy? You are home. This is the only safe place on earth for kids like us."
"You mean, mentally disturbed kids?"
Ouch...
"I mean not human. Not totally human, anyways. Half-human." Annabeth explained.
"Half-human and half-what?"
"I think you know."
Percy stood silently before saying, "God... Half-god."
Annabeth nodded. "Your father isn't dead, Percy. He's one of the Olympians."
"That's... crazy." Percy tried to deny it.
"Is it Percy? We went over it in Chiron's class back at Yancy remember? What do gods do so much in the old stories? They run around falling in love with humans and have kids with them. It's just that they didn't stop just because it's the 20th century." I intervened.
