Try Not to Panic

A little while later, with the sun still shining, it was the perfect time for Burchard to lie in the tall grass and leisurely read a book. He couldn't have asked for a more peaceful moment in time.... Though there was one noisy exception.

"Why! Why did this happen to me!!!"

A few feet away from him was the same strange girl from before, who was now stomping back and forth in the small trench she was slowly digging while continuing to shout, "I grinded so much to get my level up that high! And it's all gone!!!"

As she continues her pacing and screaming, Burchard couldn't help but notice the sun slowly crawling through the sky. Becoming a bit concerned, he sits up and looks over at her while asking, "uh.... Not trying to be rude but are you almost done?"

This seems to catch her attention as she stops dead in her tracks and starts to glare at him while asking coldly, "what did you just say?"

With her icy gaze sending multiple chills down his spine, he couldn't help but gulp hard then nervously replies, "I don't think I said anything?"

To his dismay, her eye starts to twitch in an attempt to hold back the mounting rage she was feeling as she says in a forcibly calm voice, "no.... You asked if I was done yet?"

Though he was terrified, he for some reason felt the need to say, "if you heard me then why did you ask?"

She goes quiet, though this doesn't provide him much comfort as a flaming red aura quickly ignites around her as she starts violently smacking her fishing rod in her other hand like a horse whip while asking, "if you're so adamant about it then wanna help me finish?"

He was too scared to answer though she didn't seem to care to hear a response as she says coldly, "you do?"

She adds an evil grin to her glaring face while continuing, "good, because beat the shit out of you should get the rest of my rage out."

Though every fibre of his being wanted him the cower in fear, he instead worked up the courage, to get to his feet and stands tall in front of her. Surprised to see this, Kizuna couldn't help but grin evilly at him while saying, "oh? I must give you credit, I wasn't expecting you to take your beating so willingly."

He continues to stand there silently until finally taking a deep breath as if to prepare himself though she wasn't prepared for what he says next, "see yah!"

In an instant, he spins around and takes off running in the opposite direction. Caught of guard by this turn of events, all she was really able to say was, "huh?"

With the distance between them only growing with each passing moment, Kizuna finally snaps out of the confused trance she found herself in and with her rage returning in an instant, she jumps out of her trench and starts chasing after him with her fishing rod held high while shouting, "Get back here and take your beating like a man!!!"

While keeping some distance between them, he couldn't help but shout back, "I'd rather run away like a coward!!!"

After running for what felt like ages, Burchard finds himself sprawled out in the long grass next to the river and desperately gasps for air. Meanwhile Kizuna kneels a few feet away and with her hands just barely able to hold herself up, she gasps for air while desperately trying not to throw up. With both of them somewhat catching their breath, Burchard's head slowly cranks over to look at her while asking, "still wanna kick my ass?"

With what little strength she had left, she slowly raises her head and glares at him while muttering, "what do you think?"

Getting the answer he was expecting, he couldn't help but chuckle as he looks back up at the sky while saying, "wasn't expecting anything else."
