In her room, she finds refuge in the haunting melody of Mariah Carey's "My All," a song that had once been an anthem of their love. Now, it echoes through the empty spaces of her soul, intensifying the ache of a love lost. The lyrics, once a song celebration of devotion, became a poignant reminder of all she had given to Larry.

As the song played, Penn wept, tears flowing down her cheeks, forming a river of heartache. The room absorbed her sobs, and she whispered reassurances to herself in the darkness, a feeble attempt to believe that everything would be okay. The pain, however, clung to her like a relentless shadow, refusing to be dispelled by the feeble comfort of her own words. The looming spectre of graduation cast a bittersweet shadow over Penn's final days at university, a time that should have been filled with joy and celebration. Instead, the recent betrayal inflicted upon her heart felt like a dense golf ball—small, yet its impact reverberated with an unexpectedly forceful blow.

As the academic chapter ended, Penn grappled with the raw wounds of infidelity, each step towards graduation carrying the weight of betrayal. The anticipation of the future, once filled with excitement, now seemed overshadowed by the pain of the present. The impending climax of her university journey became a bitter pill to swallow. Seeking comfort in the support of friends, Penn turned to Tamera and Tay, hoping their companionship could mend the fractures in her heart.

Together, they embarked on a journey to lift her spirits, a cathartic escapade aimed at temporarily banishing the haunting echoes of Larry's betrayal. The next day the trio ventured out, attempting to drown the sorrow in the clinking of glasses, the sizzle of food, and the laughter that echoed in the ambiance of a local restaurant. The aroma of comfort food wafted through the air, momentarily distracting Penn from the storm raging within.  However, even during camaraderie, the ghost of Larry lingered in the corners of her mind, an unwelcome companion refusing to be exorcised.

With each sip and every shared laugh, Penn attempted to make new memories, replacing the tainted ones that had been eradicated from her phone. Bowling became the canvas for a new chapter, the rolling of the ball down the lane symbolising her effort to let go.

. Yet, the clatter of pins echoed a hollow reminder of what was lost. As the night wore on, the attempt to create a distraction proved futile. Every corner of the city whispered Larry's name, and Penn, burdened by the weight of memories, decided to call it a day. The journey back home was a quiet one, her friends left with a sense of helplessness and sadness as they witnessed the toll of heartbreak on their once vibrant friend.

Alone in the sanctuary of her room, Penn braved the storm of emotions that raged  within.  The echoes of laughter and the faint scent of Larry lingered, making it clear that healing would be a gradual process.

As she weathered out the emotional turbulence, Penn clung to the belief that time would eventually soften the sharp edges of her pain, leading her towards a brighter dawn after the storm. The aftermath of Penn's heartbreak prompted Tay to rush to her side, a friend determined to provide comfort in the face of overwhelming pain.

However, her path to healing was suddenly obstructed by Tay's caring boyfriend, who intervened with a gentle hand on her arm, urging her to give Penn the time she needed to heal from the fresh wounds of betrayal.

Penn, ensconced in the shadows of her own sorrow, showing signs of withdrawal. The outside world seemed to blur as she cocooned herself in the aftermath of the heartbreak. She neither ate nor responded to the incessant calls that rang like persistent echoes in her silent room. The emptiness within reflected in her empty stomach, each unanswered call is evidence to the emotional chasm that had consumed her.

Tay, growing increasingly concerned for her friend, felt a sense of urgency. The approaching graduation day loomed like a bittersweet milestone, and the fear that Penn might miss this significant event intensified the already heightened emotions. With every passing moment of Penn's withdrawal, the weight of worry on Tay's shoulders grew heavier.  In the face of Penn's silence, Tay grappled with the dilemma of reaching out or respecting the solitude she seemed to crave. The internal struggle mirrored the external storm of emotions that Penn weathered within the confines of her home. As Tay pondered her next move, she was left with a profound realisation — healing, like the passage of time, was a journey uniquely personal and unpredictable.

The day of graduation arrived, and Penn, adorned in the ceremonial cap and gown, stepped onto the stage as her name echo through the hall. The cheers of the crowd filled the air, a symphony of accomplishment and the promise of new beginnings. Yet, as Penn made her way across the stage, she felt the weight of Larry's glare boring into her. Standing on the platform, she locked eyes with Larry, his presence casting a shadow on the celebratory occasion. Next to him stood Jessica, the girl with short black hair and narrow features—the one Penn had seen him cheating with. The painful memory surged to the forefront, threatening to mar the culmination of her academic journey.

Penn, determined not to let the intense emotions engulf her, breaking away from the eye contact. Pushing a strained smile onto her face, she focused on the symbolic act of receiving her certificate. The evidence of her hard work and dedication felt like a shield against the emotional ferment that threatened to seep through.

The ceremony continued, but as Penn descended from the stage, Larry approached with seemingly congratulatory intentions. However, before he could utter a word,Penn's friends closed ranks around her, forming a protective barrier. Their solidarity spoke louder than words, a demonstration of a support system in the face of heartbreak.

Larry, faced with the impassable wall of friends, retreated, the moment of confrontation deflected. Penn, amongst the jubilant chaos of graduation, found comfort in the unspoken shield her friends provided. As they ushered her away from the situation, Penn held her head high, a resilient figure navigating the juxtaposition of triumph and heartache on the canvas of her graduation day.

In the aftermath of graduation, the air was charged with tension as Larry approached Penn. His intention was clear – he wasn't there to cause any more trouble. The damage had already been done, trust shattered, and hearts broken. Larry's admission hung in the air, a raw acknowledgment of the wreckage he had left in his wake. Sensing the potential for conflict, Tay, ever the steadfast friend, stepped forward and positioned herself in front of Penn. A human shield, determined to protect her friend from any further emotional onslaught. The unspoken of loyalty was written across Tay's face, a resolute stance against the one who had caused Penn so much pain.

why are you still here? Tay Shouted at Larry

Penn, caught in the emotional crossfire, recognised Tay's protective instinct. To reassure her friend, she gently tapped Tay on the shoulder, a small yet significant gesture of acknowledgment. As Tay stood in front of Penn with her arms crossed, Penn leaned in and whispered, "It's okay." Her voice, though soft, carried a weight of understanding. The silent exchange spoke volumes a twist of forgiveness and the strength of friendship. Penn and Tay exchanged the delicate balance between acknowledging the pain of betrayal and finding a way to move forward.

As the echoes of graduation celebrations subsided, Tay and Tamera, recognising the emotional weight of the situation, discreetly left the hall. In that moment Larry took a step closer to Penn. Memories hung in the air, as Penn instinctively took a step backward, creating a physical distance between them.Larry's hand reached out, gently holding hers, his thumb delicately cares sing her fingers. Penn, in that moment, she was transported back to memories of their touch—undeniably special, if only to her.

Caught in the bittersweet dance of emotions, Penn pondered the significance of the touch. It wasn't remarkable in its uniqueness, yet it held a special place in her heart. As Larry wished her the best, Penn felt the invisible thread that connected them tugging at her heartstrings. Penn, fuelled by a complex mix of emotions, moved one step closer. The distance between them narrowed, bringing them close enough that the shared breaths seemed to linger in the charged atmosphere. The magnetic pull of their shared history, the good and the painful, created an unspoken connection.

In the delicate dance of closeness, Jessica unexpectedly entered the scene. Penn, acutely aware of the complexities, swiftly broke away from the proximity with Larry. A quick farewell hung in the air, a final acknowledgment of what was and what could never be. The emotions, still raw, lingered as Penn bid him farewell, a closure to a chapter that had irrevocably changed. Left in the aftermath of Larry's departure, Penn found herself holding on to her own fingers, unconsciously mimicking the tender touch she had just experienced. The memory of Larry's touch lingered, a bittersweet echo of a connection that once held significance. Her fingers traced the same path as Larry's, a subtle yet poignant attempt to capture the essence of their shared history.
