Marc and Larry went back inside. Larry's mood had changed; he was more accepting of what had happened, and his behaviour reflected that. The mystery guy, sitting in the dimly lit area with a lady beside him, noticed Larry's change in mood. He took a sip of his dark cognac, a faint smile playing on his lips. Marc left for the bar to get another round of drinks and some food to keep them going. Larry made his way over to Penn and tapped her on the shoulder to have a chat. Penn turned around to see Larry standing next to her, her heart starting to beat fast. It wasn't because she was still in love with him, but she didn't want Jessica to feel uncomfortable if she saw them talking.
Outside standing was Jessica she was upset about what she had heard, but she's willing to stick with Larry. She's loved him since their first year of university. In Jessica's head, she believes he'll grow to love her. She thinks she'll be the one he falls in love with. Jessica heads to the bathroom to reapply her makeup from the tear stains, Sees Penn and Larry having a Chat they were standing close, she walked over where Penn and Larry were and plants a kiss on Larry's cheek.
Larry was shocked by Jessica's actions. Jessica grabbed hold of Larry's arm asking what they are talking about? Larry replied saying stuff. she said let's go and sit. Upon Jessica's return Larry had Penn hands in his, gently stroking them with his thumb, Penn pull away remembering what he did. At that moment Larry knew that he had lost Penn for good. Inside she was hurting. The mystery guy saw that she was hurting just watch everything plays out. Penn went outside to get some fresh air, the mystery guy sees this as an opportunity to talked with her, but he was stopped by the lady friend in his mist.
Tay went to find Penn, who was outside, thinking about where she went wrong in her relationship. She was wondering why Larry had to cheat. Suddenly, it hit her: Jessica is pretty, hotter than her, and more popular. Penn remembered the happy times, and all these emotions made her cry. Tay rushed to hug Penn, who broke down even more, saying, "Why does a simple touch bring back so many memories I was trying to forget?" Tay reminded her about the guy she met at the bar. Penn replied, "I don't know his name, and I don't know if I'll ever see him again." Tay sighed. In a moment, Penn wiped her tears and said, "I have to be strong. I have to move on." Tay sighed again.
Penn's mood changed, saying, "Tonight is a night of celebration, let's have fun." Tay was concerned about her friend; she knew that Penn was hurting and only putting on a brave face to get through the night. The mystery guy, who happened to free himself from the lady in his company, overheard the conversation and left. Tay and Penn headed to the bathroom so Penn could clean up her face. Tay said, you are hurt, and you will need time to heal, and you will find someone way better than Larry." Upon hearing what Penn said, the mystery guy felt a tug at his heartstrings, a feeling he hadn't felt in years. He chose to ignore whatever emotion it was and washed it down with a shot of cognac.
Tay and Penn returned to the table, and Larry could see that Penn was upset, which hurt him. Larry, who was holding Jessica's hand, quickly pulled away without anyone noticing. Larry looked at Jessica, who still had a smile on her face, "Why did you have to do that?" Jessica replied, "We are together now. I know you still have feelings for Penn. You have to let go of her and any lingering feelings." Jessica continued to smile and maintain her facade. Tamera, who was busy on the dance floor, made her way to the table. Sensing the tension, she decided to pull Tay and Penn to the dance floor.
Larry, Jessica, Marc, and the others made their way to the dance floor. The music was good, and the vibe was right. After all, they were celebrating their achievement. Penn was dancing away when she caught a glimpse of a guy dressed in all black. She headed over to the bar, hoping it was the mystery guy she met earlier. only to find out it was someone else. She ordered drinks for her and her friends, with a disappointing look on her face. She decided to stop looking for the man and thought that maybe it was a coincidence that they had met. She didn't want to think too much about it. She washed the feelings down with a Kopperberg.
In the back, the mystery guy watched her with a very intense look. Something inside of him was burning, but he couldn't really understand the feeling. Again, he washed the feeling down with some cognac. Penn was dancing, but her eyes were scanning the dance floor, looking for him. Tay noticed her wandering eyes and was happy to see her friend enjoying the night. The dance floor became a canvas mixed with emotions, creating a beautiful work of art. It was like a painting with many colours, each trying to find its purpose. Larry sees Penn having a good time. When Penn sees Larry coming towards her, she makes her way to the DJ booth to request a song from LL Cool J. The DJ nods, and she heads back to the dance floor to enjoy the music and dance.
The song she requested was "I Need Love." She loves that song so much. As the song played, the DJ lowered the music, and the crowd sang, "It's Deja vu whenever I'm with you, I can go on forever telling you what I do." Then he raised the music again before lowering it once more as the crowd sang, "But where you at, you neither here nor there, I swear I can't find you anywhere," repeating it over and over. Over her voice, she screamed, "This love search is driving me bug! And if you know who you are, why don't you make yourself seen? Take a chance with my love, and you will find out what I mean!" And the song continued, with the crowd screaming, "I NEED LOVE." The part that struck her was when he said, "I need something that brings friendship, trust, honour, respect, and admiration." Penn paused to consider that this love experience was a revelation. She realised she can now live her truth without being afraid to try love again. However, she needs to be more open and let love flow both ways, not just One way.
The DJ played another song by LL Cool J, "Doin' It," and the music was perfect. As Penn danced, a guy approached, introduced himself, and asked for a dance. Tay stepped aside, and they danced the night away. The guy had some smooth moves, swaying to the rhythm. The DJ kept playing one hit after another, and Penn was thoroughly enjoying the night. She turned around to take a good look at the guy she'd been dancing with. Penn was stunned by how handsome he was, and she felt really pleased. They kept dancing, and Penn was just happy. Her mind was clear, and she wasn't thinking about Larry or the guy she met at the bar anymore. She's happy she met someone who left a mark on her, along with a note, making her night. Not knowing if she'll see him again, she's happy. Will the night end there?
The end Quote: The flower that grew taller than the grass gets the most sunlight. Sunflower.
