Nilah nervously tightened her small grip on her school bag's straps as she quickly made her way through the familiar hallways of her high school.
It's been a little more than a year since Nilah had last stepped in here but she knows this place all too well.
After many painful and boring months stuck in a hospital bed all day she's happy to be back.
Normal. Nilah just wanted to be normal again. Only if she could time travel nothing could have happened.
Maybe it was fate or maybe not. She can't do anything about it now anyways so why cry about it?
Nilah's more than determinated to live her life just as it was a year ago. However this time without half of her soul. Figure skating was everything for her.
The feeling of spinning in the air and landing effortlessly on the cold ice with a genuine smile on her beautiful face is just something she can just remember and think about. Nothing more, nothing less.
Nilah easily memorized her way to class 13 and settled down at the very back of the class by a window.
She's early just like she had predicted. Nilah has no intention of being late and barging into the room with all eyes on her, it's just unnecessary and embarrassing.
She took out her phone from her baby pink sweater's front pocket to check the time and it almost fell out of her hand as the over loud bell rang and soon after unfamiliar faces started appearing in the class.
Nilah didn't know a single student in her class but it's not something surprising, she's a year older than them after all.
One thing she's a little worried about is the teachers. Nilah's sudden disappearance was a hot topic last year among students and teachers.
All the teachers were understanding but new ones come all the time and now is not an exception. Of course they'll be curious as to why is Nilah still in school and not in college or working.
All the kids have known each other for two years minimum so they must assume she's just a new student.
A tall blonde girl sat beside Nilah and smiled excitedly.
"Hey! I'm Melanie but you can call me Mel. " She introduced herself and shook Nila's hand.
"Hey, I'm Nilah it's nice to meet you Mel. " Nilah smiled back greatul that someone approached her instantly.
"Uhhhhh, we have Mr. Jeon for the first period. God, he's such a dick I want to smash that flawless pretty face against the wall so badly. " Mel complained after checking this year's program from the pin board on the wall behind them.
"He wasn't here last year, when did he come? " Nilah asked.
"You were here last year? " Mel asked back a little surprised.
"Only at the start. I stopped because of... Some problems that suddenly occurred. " Nilah explained.
"So you're eighteen, right? " she gasped earning a nod from Nilah.
"Wowww that's so cool! " Mel clapped her hands excitedly.
She's really expensive and bright she lightens up Nilah's mood and ease her nerves a little.
Mel seems like a good friend and Nilah felt lucky that her possibly first friend here is so nice.
"Quitet, quiet. " a deep manly voice and the sound of rings hitting against the board caught both the girls attention as they turned around to look at the teacher.
Oh, god...
Nilah's jaw almost reached the ground as she took in the tall and muscular figure leaning on the head desk.
