It's the weekend and the girls decided to do another sleepover but this time in Nilah's house.
She felt a little weird about it since her house was much smaller than Melanie's and not that modern.
But her two friends didn't really care and showed no displeased expressions on their faces after coming.
Respect and appreciation is everything in all types of relationships. Nilah still remembers how one of her ex friends from her figure skating class judged her family's financial situation and never acted the same after that.
Disappointed and sadness was all Nilah felt. Almost embarrassed but she knew how hard her parents worked to support her dream of becoming a professional skater and did everything they could so their one and only daughter was happy.
Then the accident came and Nilah's world fell apart. She thought that dancing on the ice was her whole life. It was her passion and letting go was hard, it still is but life had other plans. Maybe she wasn't meant to be a skater and fate snatched that dream away from her.
Mel was debating on which movie to watch as the other two showed some old photos of when they were babies and laughed.
"Oh my god! Nini you looked like a creepy doll. " Lia pointed out and giggled at Nilah's open widened eyes who was dressed as a pumpkin eleven years ago for Halloween.
"Fuck you, Lia. " Nilah fired back and showed her middle finger causing Lia to laugh harder for her hand's small size.
"Hey, is that you? " Mel, who gave up on picking a movie spotted a gorgeous picture in Nilah's gallery.
"Yeah, it's me. " Nilah smiled nostalgically as she looked at the professionally taken picture from only two years ago.
"Wow you do figure skating? Look at that costume! " Lia zoomed in to take a closer look at Nilah's red sparkly dress that was indeed gorgeous and made her shine like a star on the ice.
"Well, I used too. I stopped last year. " she muttered and closed her phone.
"Why? " Mel asked and sat comfortably on Nilah's bed.
"Injury. I fell down while performing a really difficult routine, the triplex, and injured my spinal cord. " Nilah explained while looking at her black phone's screen.
"Is this the reason why you skipped school? It sounds painful. " Mel cringed at the thought of how bad it must have hurt.
"Yeah, I couldn't walk after that for months and did physical therapy every day to learn how to walk again." She bitterly smiled at her friends who had turned sad from hearing Nilah's story.
"Wanna watch the Nun? I bet you chickens won't be able to sleep without the lights on. " Nilah changed the subject and she too hopped on the bed beside Melanie.
It's been almost two weeks since the awkward event in biology class and Jungkook could see how hard Nilah along with Melanie tried to avoid him.
Nilah had actually become one of his best students and started to take school very seriously, like she should. Studying with Lia at the school's library and cafeteria really helped her cover last year's knowledge.
Jungkook feels proud of his student and will make sure she gets into college. He loves his job because he too was a teenager not too long ago and knows all the struggles kids have to go through in order to live a comfortable life later on.
The biology teacher didn't have a lesson this period so he decided to leave his office and go out for a quick smoke break.
Lia and Mel panted heavily with their hands on their knees after running about six laps on the field.
