"Hey, you good? " Nilah opened up her eyes and saw her brother's head peaking out of her bedroom's door.
"Yeah, just a little sore but the painkillers took most of the pain away. " she gave him a reassuring smile and nodded her head on the pillow.
Taehyung fully entered her room and walked over to sit down at the edge of her bed close to her gently holding her hand just like he used to do months ago when she was hospitalized.
"Nilah, do you want to start physical therapy again? " he asked after a few seconds of deep thinking.
One thing Taehyung doesn't want to do is upset his sister by reminding her of her spinal cord injury. But Nilah has been feeling discomfort on her legs these past few weeks and it worries him.
He doesn't want to see his baby sister in a wheelchair ever again.
"I.. I don't know Tae. " Nilah glanced down at their intertwined fingers and played with his pinky.
"Okay, but please inform me if it gets worse so we can do something. " his deep voice softened as he saw Nilah's blue eyes shifting between his black ones.
"I promise. " she gave him a loving smile melting his heart completely.
Nilah hated making and receiving promises. You can't keep all of your promises without even breaking at least one of them. She was scared of disappointing and being disappointed by someone. Even if it's accidentally without any bad intentions.
"You want me to call the boys over later? They'll surely cheer you up. No doubt. " Taehyung suggested and giggled at the thought of his idiotic six friends.
"What if Jungkook asks me why I skipped school today? I don't want to say anything.... " Nilah muttered and continued to mess around with her brother's longer fingers.
"You don't have to. Just say that you didn't feel so good. It won't really be a lie. " He answered and waited for her approval.
"Okay. Tell Jimin to wear his Garfield socks. "
"I LOVE LASAGNA!" Jimin energetically shouted with his hands up in the air as he ran towards the small girl engulfing her in a tight bear hug.
Nilah laughed happily as she too wrapped her hands around his toned waist loving the affection not feeling even a tiny bit uncomfortable anymore.
"Me too, Chim, me too." He broke the hug after hearing his cute nickname coming out of her mouth and flashed her his perfectly white teeth.
"My turn. " Yoongi deeply said and tenderly hugged the girl greeting her.
"Wanna play the 'toss around Nilah' game again? " Hoseok wiggled his eyebrows and flicked her forehead causing her to glare at him.
"My sister's not a volleyball Hobi. " Taehyung shoved him away.
"Hey you started it! "
Nilah was too occupied watching the two grown men act like children that she didn't notice the tall handsome man approaching her.
"Hey." A deep masculine voice said.
Nilah turned around and facepalmed a strong chest. She rubbed her nose in pain and tilted her neck upwards too meet Jungkook's sharp but soft eyes.
"Not my fault you don't even reach my shoulders. " he put his hands up in defense as if he was at her gunpoint.
"Shut up. "
"Why'd you skip today?" Jungkook asked.
He has been wondering all day why his favorite student was not present and grew a little worried.
