It has been a few weeks since our engagement and I am already planning the wedding while redecorating the whole house. Luke and I agreed that we would not be engaged for long because we want to start a family immediately. Which made me happy because I couldn't wait to give Luke children but it also stressed me out because I was going to have to plan a whole wedding in a year. I shook my head trying to concentrate on the decorations for Lilly's birthday party. I has just finished her birthday cake and that was chilling in the fridge. I hung the last banner for the party and I heard the doorbell ring. I quickly ran over to the door and opened it. There stood Alex and Matt. "Hey" I said excited to see them "come on in" I said and pulled the door open wider. They walked in and smiled as Lilly ran down the steps to greet them. Matt picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and carried her into the kitchen. "Hey what's up Luke" Matt said to Luke as he walked in the back door. He grinned at his friends and they started to chat. The doorbell rang again and I went to grab it. I opened the door and almost all of Lilly's school friends came pouring into the house. She giggled as she hugged all her friends and they ran outside to play. Alex walked over to the coolers and I ran over to chat with him "How are you doing since the breakup" I asked. Genuinely I knew he was hurting from it, and I know it hurt even more for Hannah to be all over Matt. "I mean they are going pretty good" he said " honestly we'd been having problems for a while, just constantly bickering and feeling disconnected. The spark was gone, you know? I thought we could work through it, but she ended up saying she'd fallen out of love with me." He sighed. I stood there shocked that he basically poured his heart out to me. "Awe Alex" I said and hugged him. He seemed so defeated "There's nothing I could do the safe the relationship so I know the best thing was to let her go" he sighed and slumped into my hug. I helped him by the shoulders staring into his eyes. "You will find the perfect girl" I said. He gave me a half smile and walked towards the food table. I sighed and looked around for Luke. I scanned the crowd and saw him standing talking to Chip. I smiled and ran over to them chit chatting. I walked up to Luke and he threw his arm around me and pulled me closer to him. I pulled the cowboy hat off his head and put it on mine. Chip was going on about something broken at the barn that he wanted Luke to check out. "You know the hat rule don't you" I heard Luke whisper in my ear, sending chills down my back. I giggled and shook my head "you take the cowboy hat. It's now time to ride the cowboy" he whispered. My eyes shot open and I blushed. I turned to face him and he wiggled his eyebrows. He placed a firm hand on my hip as we turned back to talking with Chip. I smiled, just so happy with how our lives have been going.
I smiled as I finished the last coat of paint on the master bedroom. I opened up the windows and closed the door. I walked down the hallway into the kitchen. Seeing Luke working outside, I ran outside to him. "Hey baby" he said, he was covered in motor oil and was all sweaty. "Oh this is sexy when you're done we are going upstairs" I said running my hands down his chest. He hummed at my actions and grabbed me around the waist and kissed me. "How's my gorgeous bride" he said "I'm good. I just finished painting the master bedroom. Bathroom was finished being painted this morning" I said happy I've gotten so much accomplished. "Next is the kitchen" I said

He smiled at me and kissed me on the lips. "Alright baby" I said "I gotta get ready for work" I said and started to make my way into the house. "No you're not" he said with his arms crossed. "What" I asked confused "There's no reason for you to work, I make more than enough for support us and kids." "That's a lot to ask from you, I really don't mind" I said He shook his head "I mind. I want you to raise our children" he was not budging on this. "I will work till we start having babies" I said trying to not feel useless around the house. "I will go put a baby in you right now" he smiled at me. I crossed my arms and gave him a blank stare "No" he said and rolled back under his truck he was working on "I really don't want to be lazy around the house" I said He wheeled out again from under the truck "baby your not winning this argument. Your not working again. I already spoke to Chip about it" "Ok I will give Chip my two weeks then thank you so much" I said excited that I can fulfill my stay at home mom dream " I already talked him" he said again "I already put your two weeks in two weeks ago" he grinned. "Wow you're just taking care of everything then" I smiled at him. I started to walk back into the house excited that he was going to take care of me. "Oh and while I'm thinking about it. We need a fresh coat of paint on the house" I said "that's a you job" I said pointing at him. He chuckled and nodded his head in agreement. ——

I had finally finished the master bedroom and bathroom. I flopped on the bed extremely exhausted from moving the bed back into place. I looked around and was so happy with the finished product. I picked up a few last things that had to be put away in the closet and hung them up. I walked into the bathroom turning on the tub faucet and filling it up. Once filled I eased on into the hot bathtub and settled in. The hot water felt great on my back, which was currently throbbing at this point. I felt like I was falling apart. I heard the bedroom door open and I looked behind me to see Luke strolling in. "Look at my beautiful wife" he said with such love in his eyes. "I'm not your wife yet" I said teasing "No not yet but you're going to be the mother of my children" he said and sat on the edge of the tub. His eyes trailing down my naked body. "You're so beautiful" he said his eyes connecting with mine "I'm just so in love with you" he said leaning down to kiss my forehead. I smiled at him feeling so safe and secure whenever he's around me.
He pulled off his clothes and quickly slid into the tub with me. I melted at his touch, he slid behind me and wrapped his around around me, I leaned against him "I could die like this, I'd be happy forever" I said He chuckled and kissed my cheek. "So I have been meaning to talk to you about something" he said "What is it" I said a little concerned because he was serious. I turned around to face him. "So as you know the court date is coming up for Lilly's custody, I want you to have custody with me" he said his brow furrowed. "Awe baby of course that means the world to me" I said "The only issue is that we need to be married" he looked concerned. "I know that we want to plan a whole wedding but I didn't know if you would want to run down to the courthouse and go get married and then we can have a big ceremony later" he looked a little nervous to hear my answer "I'm so down" I smiled and slid over to him. "Really" he asked excitedly "I was really worried you'd say no" he smiled. "I want Lilly to be yours as much as she will be mine" I leaned over and kissed him knowing that all this must be so stressful for him. "When's the court date" I asked. He nervously smiled " Friday" he said My eyes got big "Luke! It's Tuesday" I said shocked "Wanna go tonight" he asked "Let's go" I giggled
