Comforting lies

He fell for the sunshine

He fell for the starlight

He fell for the smile that hid under the moonlight.

Her eyes reflected the starry sky

But she still gave trust to his words like a comforting lie

He didn't know how to tell her

He didn't know how it would end

He didn't know for how long he had to pretend.

He was falling from her arms

He was falling from her gaze

He fell so deep, he was caught in a haze

But she couldn't catch him

He fell so far

Seeing him distorted, her skies fell apart.

In another life, he might meet her again

He hoped for nothing but she hoped for the best

She lost everything, she lost her heart

He lost his smile, and left her at the start.
