Yashoda sensed both Karan and Monami seemed troubled.
"Reena tujhe factory ke liye late nahi ho raha?" Yashoda sent Reena away and then spoke to Monami.
"Tu jaa Karan se baat kar le" Yashoda said.
"Nahi ma. Woh shayad bohot busy hai." Monami really wanted Karan to be happy with her , genuinely, not because she asks.
"Monami. Tu bhi na. 1-2 baar karan ki bhi tareef kar deti jab wo MLA tujhe Jeet ki badhai de raha tha. Tera pati hai." Yashoda said.
"Maa maine kaha to tha ki Karan ke bina main ye nahi kar paati. Pati na bhi hota to bhi main yahi kehti ki usne bohot kiya hai mere Iss sapne ke liye kyonki wahi sach hai. Aur maine MLA ke saamne kaha bhi tha." Monami explained.
"Monami , tujhe pata hai wo kabhi kabhi ego mein react kar deta hai...." Yashoda justified.
"Maa har waqt uski ego massage nahi kari jaa sakti. Main mandir jaa rahi hoon, bhagwaan ji ko thanks bolne. Karan ko bhi bolti agar usne mujhse baat karna zaroori samjha hota. Uske baad mujhe bohot kaam hai maa. May office chali jaungi. Agar wo pooche to usko bata dena aap." Monami went in Yashoda's room to get ready.
Yashoda went to Karan in the room.
"Kuch problem hai?" Yashoda asked sternly. She was also surprised Karan's reaction.
"Nahi. Congratulations - aapki bahu London nahi jaa rahi!" Karan said with a straight face, not hiding that he was pissed.
"Kya hua hai Karan? Tu jaanta hai Monami kaamkaaji (working) ladki hai to uski kaamyaabi se pareshan kyon hai? Beta isliye main kehti abhi sab bhool ke padhai kar. Ek baar teri naukri acchchi jagah lag gayi to phir tujhe uske zyada kaamyaab hone se bura nahi lagega." Yashoda said bluntly.
"Ofocurse not maa. Mujhe Monami ki success se problem nahi hai. I am just surprised ki Aisa kya hua ki achanak se usko loan mil gaya? Aisa kya hua ki woh MLA uski tareef band hi nahi kar raha tha? Ye sab mujhe pata kyon nahi tha? Aisa kya khayal rakh rahi thi...." Karan's words were incomplete as he saw a Monami standing at the door.
"Chup kyon ho gaye? Please continue." Monami said sternly.
"Tum dono baat kar lo" Yashoda said, trying to leave the room.
"Nahi maa. Aapke saamne itna kuchh bol gaya, aap chali jaengi to pata nahi kya bol de. To please aap rukiye" Monami said. Her voice was heavy - she was very very disappointed. She went near Karan. "Saaf bolo, Karan. Tumhe kya lagta hai. Aisa kya hua mere or MLA ke beech that I got the loan. Clearly my hard work doesn't count. My planning, my research, my entire case presentation, the relevance of my pitch doesn't count. So tumhe kya lagta hai? Did I seduce him or sleep with him to get the loan?"
"Shut up Monami. I didn't say anything like that. Ye tumhare apne words hain, mere nahi." Karan felt embarrassed in front of Yashoda.
"Main mandir jaa rahi hoon maa. Kyonki ab main bolungi, to yeh baat badhegi. Aaj jo hua wo mere liye bohot important hai. And I am not letting anyone spoil it for me." Monami said to Yashoda and Karan, and walked out.

"Main factory jaa raha hoon maa" Karan said as Monami left.
"Mujhe nahi pata tu kya chahta tha aaj. Par tune jo kaha, Monami ka bura lagna bilkul sahi hai." Yashoda said.
"Wo samajhna chahe to maine uske liye kuch galat nahi kaha. Agar wo samajhna chahe.." Karan justified himself again.
"Aur na samjhe to? Baat kar ke samjhayega ya bas aise aadhi suni baat ki wajah se problem hone dega" Yashoda said to Karan.
Karan thought about it and left home without saying any word.
