CONFESSION YET REJECTION

Ekanksh stood at a distance, watching as the last of the guests departed from the grand engagement ceremony. His heart raced with anticipation, knowing that this was his moment, his chance to finally reveal his feelings to Vamika. He had rehearsed the words a hundred times in his mind, but now, as he watched her graceful figure disappear into the depths of the palace, he felt a surge of nervousness wash over him.

Without hesitation, Ekanksh followed Vamika, his footsteps echoing softly against the marble floors of the palace corridors. The darkness seemed to envelop him, but he pressed on, his determination guiding his every step. He knew he had to catch up to her before it was too late, before doubt could cloud his resolve.

Finally, he caught sight of her silhouette ahead, her delicate frame illuminated by the soft glow of the torches that lined the walls. With each passing moment, his heart pounded louder in his chest, the sound echoing in his ears like a drumbeat of anticipation.

As Vamika turned a corner, Ekanksh quickened his pace, his breath coming in short, shallow gasps. He could feel the weight of his confession pressing down on him, threatening to suffocate him with its intensity. But he pushed the fear aside, focusing only on the woman he loved and the words he longed to speak.

As Ekanksh's hand reached out to grasp Vamika's wrist, he felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins. His fingers closed around her delicate skin, his touch gentle yet firm as he pulled her to a stop. Vamika's eyes widened in surprise, her lips parting in a silent gasp as she turned to face him, her expression a mix of confusion and apprehension.

In the dim light of the palace corridors, Ekanksh could see the soft curve of her cheek illuminated by the flickering torches that lined the walls. Her eyes, usually so bright and alive with laughter, now held a hint of uncertainty, as if she were unsure of what to expect from him. But he could not let her doubt deter him, not when he had come so far, not when his heart beat for her and her alone.

"Vamika," he whispered, his voice barely more than a breathless murmur. "There's something I need to tell you.....I LOVE YOU VAMIKA."

For a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath, the silence stretching between them like a taut string waiting to snap. Ekanksh could feel the weight of his confession pressing down on him, threatening to crush him beneath its burden. But he refused to falter, refused to let fear hold him back from speaking the truth that burned within him like a raging inferno.

But before he could utter another word, he felt Vamika's hand pressing against his chest, her touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through him. He watched helplessly as she pushed against him, her strength surprising him as she broke free from his grasp.

"No," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I can't... I can't love you."

The words hit him like a physical blow, each syllable tearing through him with a force he had not anticipated. For a moment, he felt as if the ground had been ripped out from beneath him, leaving him adrift in a sea of uncertainty and pain. He watched in silence as Vamika turned and fled, her footsteps echoing in the darkness as she disappeared from sight.

For a moment, Ekanksh stood there, his heart aching with the pain of rejection. But then, with a renewed sense of determination, he set off after her, his footsteps echoing in the empty corridors as he chased after the woman he loved, determined to understand the truth behind her words and to prove to her that his love was worth fighting for.
__________________________________IN VAMIKA'S ROOM

As Vamika's footsteps echoed through the empty corridors of the palace, Ekanksh trailed behind her, his heart heavy with the weight of rejection. He couldn't bear the thought of letting her slip away without knowing the reason behind her refusal, without understanding why she couldn't return his love.

Finally reaching her room, Vamika's trembling hand hovered over the lock, her tears blurring her vision as she struggled to compose herself. But before she could turn the key, Ekanksh's presence filled the doorway, his gaze burning with a mixture of anguish and determination.

Without a word, he stepped inside and locked the door behind him, his eyes never leaving hers as he closed the distance between them. "Why?" he pleaded, his voice thick with emotion. "Don't you love me even a little bit?"

Vamika's throat tightened at the pain in his voice, her tears flowing freely now as she shook her head, unable to find the words to express the turmoil raging within her. But Ekanksh's patience wore thin, his frustration boiling over as he yelled at her to speak, to tell him the truth that lay hidden beneath her tears.

Her silence only fueled his anger, his temper flaring as he paced the room, his voice rising with each passing moment. And then, in a moment of desperation, he uttered a challenge that took Vamika by surprise.

"Five seconds," he said, his voice cold and unwavering. "If you don't speak, I'll leave the palace right now, in the middle of the function."

Vamika's eyes widened in shock as she watched him count down, each second ticking by like a lifetime. She wanted to stop him, to tell him the truth before it was too late, but her voice remained trapped behind the wall of her fear.

And then, just as Ekanksh reached the final count, she found herself moving, her body propelled forward by a force greater than her own will. With a cry of desperation, she threw herself into his arms, her tears soaking his shirt as she buried her face against his chest.

"I love you," she whispered, her voice barely more than a broken sob. "I love you more than anything in this world."

And in that moment, as they clung to each other amidst the wreckage of their shattered fears, Ekanksh felt a weight lift from his shoulders, a sense of relief flooding through him like a tidal wave. For in Vamika's embrace, he found the answer to his prayers, the confirmation of the love he had longed for with every beat of his heart.

As Vamika melted into Ekanksh's embrace, her tears mingling with his shirt, she felt a flood of emotions washing over her. The weight of her confession lifted from her shoulders, replaced by a sense of relief and vulnerability that left her feeling exposed yet strangely liberated.

After a few moments, Ekanksh gently broke the hug, his hands cupping her tear-streaked cheeks as he gazed into her red, swollen eyes with tenderness and concern. "Why, my bacha?" he asked softly, his voice laced with curiosity. "Why did you deny loving me back when I confessed my feelings to you earlier?"

Vamika looked at him with innocence shining in her eyes, like a baby unsure of the ways of the world. "Because," she began, her voice barely more than a whisper, "you are the Mafia King of whole India. Everyone says you're heartless and have huge levels of anger issues."

At her response, Ekanksh's lips broke into a laugh, the sound echoing through the room like music to Vamika's ears. He laughed not out of mockery, but out of genuine amusement at her innocent perception of him. It was a laugh filled with relief, a release of tension that had built up over years of carrying the weight of his reputation.

But as his laughter subsided, he caught sight of the anger flashing in Vamika's eyes, her lips set in a pout that made her look irresistibly adorable. "Sorry," he said quickly, his amusement fading as he realized he had unintentionally hurt her feelings.

Vamika turned her face away from him, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I'm not going to talk to you," she declared, her voice petulant like a child sulking after being scolded.

Ekanksh couldn't help but smile at her stubbornness, admiring the fiery spirit that lay beneath her delicate exterior. "Yes, yes," he thought to himself, "this much ego should be expected from a princess."

Moving closer to her, Ekanksh wrapped his arms around her from behind, pulling her gently against his chest. Together, they stood in silence, bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight streaming through the window, their hearts beating in rhythm with the gentle pulse of the night.

And as they stood there, enveloped in the tranquil embrace of the night, Ekanksh knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together. For in that moment, under the watchful gaze of the moon, their love began to blossom, a fragile yet beautiful flower that would only grow stronger with each passing day.
