the air is heavy with the scent of lavender and tea as she pulls me closer, her fingers tangling in my hair as she peppers kisses along my jaw.
i rise to meet her halfway, and she smiles, giving me a teasing grin as she pulls back, lacing her fingers with mine.
our kisses are slow and sweet, a gentle dance of lip and tongue that speaks volumes without a single word.
i pull out of a kiss, my heart pounding in my chest as i gaze into robin's eyes. "i love you," i whisper, leaning in to capture her lips once more.
robins smiles against my mouth. "i love you too," she murmurs.
i can feel the heat rising between us, the electricity crackling in the air as our bodies beg for each other. but just as i'm about to lean in again, robin pulls away with another mischievous sparkle in her eyes.
i'm ready this time.
i snake an arm around her waist and flip her over, hovering above her with a triumphant smile. "not so fast," i scold playfully.
robin laughs softly, brushing her lips against mine. i roll my eyes, unable to suppress a smile at her antics.
"you're such a tease, buckley," i say, pushing her down with a fierce kiss.
"guilty," she breathes, reaching up to brush a strand of hair from my face. "but you love me anyway."
"more than anything."
we lie in silence for a moment, the only sound being the soft rustle of sheets as we shift beside each other, fitting together like a key in a lock.
"there's actually something i've been meaning to talk to you about," robin begins, breaking the silence as her fingers trace invisible patterns across my back.
i prop myself up on one elbow, gazing down at her with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "what is it, love? you can tell me anything."
robin takes a deep breath, her eyes searching mine for any sign of hesitation. "the school formal is coming up," she says, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "and i was wondering if you'd want to go with me."
my heart skips a beat at her words, the realisation sinking in like a warm ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds. "of course i want to go with you," i say. "i can't imagine going with anyone except you."
robin smiles, a look of relief washing over her. "really?" she asks, her voice soft with wonder.
i nod, leaning down to press a tender kiss against her lips. "really," i whisper.
۵
the sun casts a golden hue over downtown hawkins as robin and i make our way to the local dress shops, excitement bubbling in our veins like champagne ready to burst.
today is the day we find the perfect dresses for the school formal, a night that promises to be filled with magic and memories.
as we step into the shop, the air is alive with the buzz of anticipation, the racks overflowing with a kaleidoscope of colours and styles. robin's eyes light up with excitement as she surveys the array of dresses, her fingers trailing over the fabrics in search of the perfect gown.
