tsukishima muttered to himself as he walked off, your rejection playing in his head over and over. yamaguchi and his brother were off by the stairs that led back to the white and blue village, their brows furrowed.

they couldn't tell why he looked so pissed off at first. they assumed it was just the fact that he was forced to apologize to some stranger.

"you did it?" akiteru asked, watching as the blonde pushed past them with a chain of curses. akiteru and yamaguchi exchanged a quick look of concern before following after the boy.

tsukishima briefly glared back at them. "yes, i did it."

yamaguchi smiled, lightly clapping his hands together. "great! how did it go?"

tsukishima turned in front of him again, his brows twitching with annoyance. your words echoed in his mind— the harsh, yet uncertain sound of them— and the way your brother smugly smiled at him— it all pissed him off.

the blonde clicked his tongue in annoyance. the one time he apologized and this was the reaction he got? it was annoying.

"she didn't accept it," tsukishima explained, hastily slipping past groups of tourists.

yamaguchi widened his eyes. he shouldn't have been surprised though. it was completely rational for you to turn the apology down. akiteru frowned, but he also knew fully well what a jerk his brother could be, so he wasn't all too surprised.

"oh.. i'm sorry tsukki-" yamaguchi started, falling into step beside his friend.

tuskishima scoffed, glaring down at him. "sorry? what? you think i feel bad just because some girl rejected my apology?" before yamaguchi could answer tsukishima continued, harshly spitting the words out, "i don't."

yamaguchi and akiteru suddenly paused, their eyes following the blonde who continued to march forward. there was something different about him. it was normal for tsukishima to get butthurt about certain things, but a rejection wasn't one.

"hey, where are you going?" akiteru called out.

"the ship," tsukishima answered, then he was lost in the crowd of people eager to explore mykonos.

soon, he found himself back in his cabin, leaning against the balcony. the sound of waves lapping against the hall was almost soothing, but his jaw was still tightly clenched as his mind raced with thoughts of you.

why did this bother him so much? you were a girl he barely knew.

it wasn't the outright rejection that bothered him, it was the fact that you actually had the guts to say something that pissed him off. you challenged him in a way he couldn't explain. tsukishima was the one that got under people's skin; the amount of people who could get under his were counted.

he let out a frustrated sigh, turning back inside the cabin, closing the glass door behind him. he then pulled the curtains over the panel, the room darkening as he did. tsukishima wanted a distraction.

he grabbed his room card that he had placed on the desk when he came in and left the room. he wandered down the narrow halls to the lobby, hoping he might find something, anything to distract him.
