The day was dawning, and Benny began to stir. He slowly opened his eyes and memories from the previous night came flashing back. Alone in his house, drinking, driving, the crash and then nothing... everything blank and suddenly there was his Frida. She was there or was it all a dream? He slowly turned his head to his left, his whole body still hurt immensely. Nothing. Then he looked at his right and there she was. There laying on his right shoulder was his Frida. She looked so peaceful, sleeping soundly, snuggling close into him. He wondered why he couldn't feel her weight on him last night it seemed he did. He recalled the wonderful moments for a moment but was soon brought back to reality when the doctor came into the room.

It was 9.00 AM and time for doctor's rounds. He checked over Benny, careful not to wake sleeping Frida. Everything seemed fine, given the circumstances and the doctor was just about to leave when Benny decided to ask about the lack of feeling. Doctor Larson reassured him that it was completely normal, and it was just the side effect of the medication he was given to help him deal with the pain in his bones and muscles and it will only be present for a while.

Frida has been awake for quite some time when the doctor left and feeling reassured decided to have some fun. She has realised last night that there was no time left to waste. Life was too short, and anything could happen. She turned slowly, still pretending to be asleep and was just about to make her move when a nurse entered the private hospital room carrying breakfast for both Benny and her. Benny thanked the nurse, and she left the room saying if he needed anything he only had to press a button. Frida groaned to herself, only in her mind of course. He shan't need to do that, he had her here, she was all he needed. Benny sniggered, "you can stop pretending you are asleep, she isn't here anymore." Frida finally opened her eyes and smiled at Benny, giving him a small kiss on the lips before standing up and frowning a bit. "What?" asked Benny. "Nothing..." she brought him his breakfast tray and then picked up hers finally sitting on the bed beside him, he had made space for her so they could sit hip to hip. They ate in a comfortable silence. In about half an hour the nurse came back taking the empty trays back out of the room leaving them to themselves.

They spent the morning chatting and kissing, savouring every moment with each other. No one could doubt their love for the other. Frida wasn't herself and Benny could see that. She seemed awfully quiet, and her mind seemed to be far away. She really wasn't feeling well but she tried everything to hide that. Benny was her priority, and nothing was going to stop her from caring for him first. A little nausea she could deal with, loosing Benny was another. She pulled Benny close, cautious of his injuries and they just hugged for what seemed like eternity.

It was just almost 12.00 PM when the air in the hospital began to change. Both Frida and Benny could both feel it. There were whispers among nurses and doctors and there was some sort of tension forming. Just past 12.30 PM and suddenly everything broke into chaos. All alarms in the hospital broke, nurses and doctors were running around, something major must have happened.
