Bang! A loud noise came from the outside. The kids came rushing to Frida, frightened of what has happened. It certainly didn't sound normal, let alone something to be happening on an average day. Frida opened the curtains, she herself too scared to just go for the door. What she saw surprised her immensely, there was at least half a metre of snow right outside their home! In August! She never imagined the snow so early it was still summer for **** sake. The children slowly gaining courage approached her and looked through the windows in awe. Just when all seemed to calm down a bit a loud bang was heard once again, a roaring thunder in a snowstorm. It was already starting to snow heavily and there was no way they could make it to school let alone to Stockholm. They'll have to cancel today's recording for sure. I might even be able to take Lotta to school when they eventually start, she mused. Another loud bang brought her back to reality, reminding her just how serious this situation was. She quickly called Benny and told him everything he needed to know. It was the same in Stockholm. He and Björn had been debating returning home early hoping to return before the snowstorm will reach its height. Frida wasn't sure this was such a good idea but knowing the two, she knew there was nothing that could stop them when they've set their mind on something, especially when it concerned their families. Frida told them both to be safe and not to do anything stupid. She reminded them that both her and Agnetha as well as the children needed them, especially now with the new babies on the way.
With boys steeled, she focused on Agnetha. She was still in her house on the other side of island and the landline stopped working due to the storm. Frida got the children into some warm clothes warning them to stay inside no matter what, telling them she will be right back. With each of the children safe and warm inside, she dressed into her warmest clothes and ventured outside towards Ulvaeus' house. The journey that would usually be a 10 to 15-minute walk now seemed much longer. It took her nearly an hour to even reach the house and the weather conditions were worsening by the minute. She knocked on Agnetha's door, hoping she'd open soon. It was freezing outside, -25°C, it was the end of August! Just yesterday it was more than fifteen, even more than twenty degrease. It took a less than a minute for Agnetha to open the door, but to Frida this seemed like hours. As soon as the door opened, she barged in aiming directly for the fire not even looking at Agnetha, she just needed to warm a bit otherwise she will freeze. Seeing her best friend struggle to control her shivering she approached her lovingly putting the warmest blanket around her holding her tight, helping her recover from the cold. Linda was peacefully sleeping in the cot, cosy beside the fire. When Frida finally regained her wits, she explained everything to Agnetha. Agnetha was frightened about Björn traveling in the snowstorm, but she could hardly do anything about it now. Besides, Björn was a stubborn man who wouldn't changer his mind anyway, Benny was easier to persuade.
Both women decided it was best they all stayed in one house and since it was safer traveling with one child rather than four, they opted for Frida's house. They packed some clothes for Björn and Anna and some of the things Linda will need. They didn't really need much since Frida had everything stocked up already, ready for when the new baby arrives. They wrapped themselves in warm clothes, Agnetha hiding Linda underneath them all, away from the cold, snuggled safely into her mother's chest. They made their way to Frida's house in just under 2 hours, the weather really wasn't on their side.
The day was spent playing boardgames, singing, listening to music on the old record player, baking cookies... whatever you imagine, by the time dinner was ready all were tired happy to just be close to one another, savouring the warmth of the fire before them. After dinner it was time for the children to go to bed, Frida helped them get ready while Agnetha breastfed Linda making sure she was comfortable enough beside the storm.
It was past midnight, and all the kids were asleep. It was only Frida and Agnetha downstairs waiting for their men to return. Just after one the door finally opened and Benny and Björn entered. Quietly they walked through the house making sure to close the door properly afraid of the cold air entering the house. They were greeted by two sleeping angels on the sofa, snuggled together searching for the warmth. They gently woke the girls up knowing they needed to know they've arrived home safely as soon as possible. With that done they made their way to their bedrooms, happy to be able to hold each other until the storm has passed.
