In the town several cadets were arguing with each other. Each of their hopes dashed and their purpose of life gone. They squatted on the roofs and stared blankly into the distance.
With a heavy sigh Jean grunted "It was a boring life... I guess I'll just scream my head off and make everyone think Im insane." Connie stared at him as jean took a deep breath then
"LET'S DO THIS EVERYONE! I'DE RATHER DIE FIGHTING FOR TROST THEN SIT HERE AND WAIT TO BE EATEN!" No body moved. At least not everyone.
"EXACTLY! If we work together we can help push back the titans! I'm taking vanguard!" Sasha piped as cheerful as if nothing happened.
No one moved. No one spoke. No one paid any attention to her.
"Oi! Cheer up! You guys can't give up just because it FEELS like you're going to die!" Across to them, Annie, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Marco were staring at the HQ with worried expressions on their faces. Marco sweated at the thought Wall Rose being kicked down, Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt? Eh... not so much. They watched as little specks flew in and out while one by one the titans fell to the ground sending up a heave cloud of debris.
"Reiner what should we do?" Annie snarled with sarcasm dripping over every word. Reiner tensed and glancing at Marco, stated.
"We wait at least until they all gather together."
"There no way we can fight that many!" shuddered Marco without noticing Reiner's glance.
"We can't make it out of here. Our gas is almost gone. The titan's will kill us all. It's not like we weren't prepared to die... but what are we even dying for?!" Marco muttered in a dazed monotone, eyes glazed and unseeing.
Suddenly shouts came from the other side of the roof.
"Mikasa!!"
"Mikasa what are you doing here!??"
"I thought you were in the right wing Middle Guard!!"
Panting Mikasa rested her hands against her knees and looked up at Annie.
"Annie! I think I understand this situation and I apologize for bringing my own feelings for this but..." another breath "Do you know where Eren's squad is?" She looked up pleadingly, tugging the red scarf up to her nose.
"What are you apologizing to me for? I'm not sure where Eren is but I did see part of the elite squad go towards HQ. Honestly, they were moving too fast for me to recognize." Annie glanced at her with ice cold eyes pointedly. Mikasa sighed and turned away disappointedly. Annie watched as Mikasa walk away when he heard Bertholdt gasp.
"What the hell!" Bertholdt said under his breath and nudged Reiner.
"How?!?" Marco gaped. Annie turned to look.
"What are you two dumbasses looking a-" then she saw it. Right next the HQ stood a titan. The titan just stood there just as a meaty hand ripped through its mouth.
"Oh my god..." someone whispered.
"We're doomed...."
Out of the titan carcass stepped out a new titan. This titan stood at 15 meters, with a tuft of black hair growing on its head, and green eyes that seemed like it glowed.
"What just- That- huh??!" Confusion rippled through the remaining soldiers. The watched in amazement as the titan began battling against its own race. Chomping down on necks, tearing off heads, kicking through spines and what not.
"This is our chance. We must get to the HQ."
"For Eren?" Mikasa faltered then turned away
"For humanity. We'll use the titan as a distraction. If we don't fight we won't win." With that she dashed to the edge roof and took a running leap soon disappearing into the distance.
